Purpose : This procedure is used as work instruction for Boiler operator , Desk Engineer ,
Shift Incharge.

Scope : This procedure explains the lineup , startup , shutdown , isolation of PA Fans

Responsibility: Boiler 0 Mt Operator, Desk Engineer, SWGR operator.

Procedure:
LINE UP PROCEDURE

1. No permit is pending.
2. All manholes in primary air duct are closed.
3. DMCW booster pump is in service.
4. Lineup cooling water to lube oil cooler. ( DMCW supply, return valves are open )
5. Check for adequate oil level in lube oil tank.
6. All instruments are lineup.
7. Instrument air to blade pitch operating power cylinder is open.
8. Fan discharge damper is closed.
9. Breaker is in service and in Remote.
10. Motor protection relay is healthy.
11. Both lube oil pumps modules are ON and in remote.

START UP

1) Start lube oil pump. Ensure pressure is normal


2) Keep the blade pitch in closed position.
3) Start the PA fan.
4) Open outlet damper.
5) Load the fan by opening blade pitch

SHUTDOWN

1. Unload the fan by reducing the blade pitch.


2. Stop the fan.
3. Close outlet damper.
4. Stop lube oil pump.

ISOLATION PROCEDURE

1. Ensure fan is OFF.


2. Rack out the breaker and DC supply switch OFF with HT locked in the module and
danger Tag displayed.
3. Switch OFF PA fan outlet gate module.
4. Switch OFF Lube oil pumps (A, B) modules. ( After lube oil system was stopped.
