PEC MINOR PROJECT: EXPLOPRACE

‘SPEED TILL YOU LEAD 2016’

On 19th May 2016, PEC 04 has held a minor project called ‘Speed Till You Lead
2016’ explorace. I was taking a part as an assistant director in the committee members.
Before the actual activity, there was a lot preparation to be done. At first we need to book a
place for the game. After discussion with the committee members, we were decided to book
u-café, u-plaza, u-globe, eye clinic, pond and affin bank area. After that we went to
maintenance for the sound system and microphones as well. Then, we have created exciting
and fun games for them. The games that we were chose are tic tac toe, draw down the lane, 5
changes in me, build a tower, sound trouble and figure it out. In my personal opinion, figure
it out is the most difficult game of all. After making the preparation of the game, I was told to
invite Mr Ibrahim, Mr Nizam and our dean, Ass Prof Dr Mohd Fadli. I was in charge in
making the invitation card for them. Then, me and director Jeevitha went to see them and
gave the invitation card. Luckily our dean makes a time and joins us during prize giving
ceremony. The winner for the first place was Group D, second place was Group C and third
place was Group E.

I was also in charge of sound trouble games. The rules are simple. They need to
choose one person from their group that can hum a song. Then, the group mates need to guess
the tittle of the song within 3 minutes. In this game, they need to focus more on hearing the
melody of the song. I can see that their teamwork was very good as they heard the song and
try to guess it together. It was very pleasant moment to watch them cooperate with each
other. After that, I gave the clue for the next game’s location.

The first game was tic tac toe. The people in charge in this game are naim, ariff and
fathin. This game will decide which group will go the second game first. In this game, they
need to place a colour paper in 3 boxes horizontally or vertically as fast as they can. Next
game was drawing down the lane. The people in charge are Sarannya and Jane. In this game,
Sarannya or Jane gave the picture and they need to draw the picture without looking it. As for
build a tower games, they need to build a tallest tower using the newspapers.5 changes in me
where the group will guess what changes that their group mate make within the time given

In my personal opinion, the difficulties during this program are time and type of
games. We have to ensure that each station does not last long enough that can drag the time
as we have to follow accordingly the tentative program that has given to the dean and other
lecturers. We expected to finish the game before 5 pm as the prize giving ceremony will be
held at 5 pm. The student also must gather at the u-globe at 2.30 pm as we supposed to start
the explorace at 3 pm. However, there is a class before that finished by 3 pm. Furthermore,
all Muslims need to pray before playing the game. Besides that, the maintenance people were
late. They supposed to set up the microphone and the sound system before 3 pm. However,
they came at 3.45pm. We have to shout to everyone at the u-globe. Luckily, all the students
gave full cooperation and the explorace activity went well as we followed the tentative
program accordingly.

The other difficulties are games. We have to create a game that is not involve with
water or something that can make the place dirty and also safe for the students to play. There
is so many games that we have to change due to this circumstances. After all the meetings
with committee members and discussion with lecturer, we decide to proceed these six games
which are tic tac toe, draw down the lane, 5 changes in me, build a tower, sound trouble and
figure it out.

My reflection toward the explorace activity is that in order to make things success, we
have to keep up the teamwork spirit and also communicate well with each other. People that
joined the activity would enjoy it and make this activity as part of their sweet memory as well
as learning process to develop teamwork skills when the activity went well. I was very happy
when I heard Josai’s students that participate in this explorace enjoyed so much before they
went back to Japan. I am so honoured to be part of the committee member for the minor
project.
