3. Our shadows are longer in the morning and evening. Why?

During morning and evening, the angle of incident light is very small. Due to this, longer
shadows are formed in the morning and evening.

4. What is shadow?

When light falls on an opaque object, a dark patch is formed on the other side of the
object; if a screen is present on the other side. This dark patch is called shadow.
5. Differentiate between luminous and non-luminous objects .

Luminous A body /object which emits light by itself .It can be natural or artificial

Translucent & opaque materials form shadows as they block the light.

7. Why the length of your shadow on the ground keeps changing during the day?

In the morning & evening the Sun is positioned quite low in the sky & your shadow is
long. As the Sun moves up in the sky, the length of the shadow goes on decreasing. At
noon when the Sun is overhead, the shadow is the shortest. Thus the length of your
shadow on the ground keeps changing during the day depending upon the position of the
Sun in the sky.

8. Observe the given figure and identify the figure that forms the bigger shadow?
