Preface

The table below provides an overview of the International Literacy Association (ILA)
Standards and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) Standards, how they correspond to each
other, and artifacts from coursework that demonstrate my understanding of the Standards. The
Standards are further broken up into six major sections and the appropriate portion of this larger table
can be viewed atop each of the six sections. In the following 6 sections I will synthesize each set of
ILA and IDA standards, summarize the artifacts, and demonstrate my knowledge and skills as a
literacy specialist through a justification of how the standards are evidenced through the artifacts.
