The City of Pocatello’s Green Infrastructure Network identifies lands with specific
value to Portneuf River Valley residents which are worth of conservation or
consideration for conservation. Areas identified as Absolute should remain free from
real estate development and should be permanently conserved. These spaces include
inherently unbuildable spaces, existing protected lands, and spaces with extremely
valuable open space qualities as identified by the community. Areas identified as
Relative include lands that are buildable and hold developmental potential but possess
certain community values which are deserving of consideration for conservation.
