Position: Senior Manager, SAP Platforms

Band: V-B

Responsibilities

- Anticipate and analyze IT operational areas for improvement in SAP performance and
supportability.
- Review SAP system issues to drive platform improvements and any opportunities to
create/improve SOPs.
- Investigate any repetitive issues and coordinate with other operations and application teams to
improve system reliability.
- Drive for Continuous Improvement as a team leader and a team member.
- Provide technical leadership, expertise and architecture in for infrastructure initiatives.
- Develop and maintain IT technology plans by researching industry trends and best practices.
- Plans, manages, and co-ordinates activities to support the implementation of a large ERP
program from contract /proposal initiation to final operational stage; plans, schedules,
monitors, and reports progress on activities related to the program
- Facilitates requirements gathering, scoping and prioritization for large or complex changes,
engaging senior stakeholders as required
- Develops and maintains one or more defined communication channels and/or stakeholder
groups, acting as a single point of contact
- Determines organizational development needs in line with business needs and strategic
direction
- Contributes to risk-based audit of existing and planned technology systems. Identifies IT risk in
detail, assesses and tests the effectiveness of control measures and prepares formal reports in
order to provide independent assurance on an organization's information security, integrity and
resilience
- Negotiates and resolves contractual issues, including failure to meet contractual obligations
- Implements and oversees change control processes and leads deviation negotiations when
necessary
- Ensures that service delivery consistently meets established service levels
- Maintains application support processes, and checks that all requests for support are dealt with
according to agreed procedures
- Monitors and manages IT budgets, ensuring that all IT financial targets are met, and examining
any areas where budgets and expenditure exceed their agreed tolerances
- Engages with technical design and project managers to ensure correct products are produced, in
a timely fashion
- Identifies and manages the resources necessary for all stages (planning, estimation, execution)
of individual systems development projects to ensure technical, financial and quality targets are
met
- Contributes to the creation and review of a systems capability strategy which meets the
strategic requirements of the business
- Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective
business processes, through improvements in information systems, data management,
practices, procedures, organization and equipment
- Analyzes business processes; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility, and
recommends new approaches, typically seeking to exploit technology components
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures and overall
information management strategy
- Maintains an awareness of the global needs of the organization, and promotes the benefits that
a common approach to IT deployment will bring to the business as a whole, among information
systems and business management
- Maintains awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address challenges or to
enable new ways of working
- Leads the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with
specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal customers
- Promotes and ensures use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools
- Plans and manages the evaluation of software processes Identifies, proposes, and initiates
software process improvement activities within the organization

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline required.

General Experience: 5+ years I.T. experience with 1-2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.

Management: Ability to lead a strong team to meet organizational objectives. Customer focused with
desire to continually acquire knowledge of customer's business objectives and processes.

Process Improvement: Project management, analytical and critical thinking skills required, including a
thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs, translating them into operational
requirements and solutions.

Financial: Manage budget > $5MM (USD). Results oriented with ability to lead complex IT assignments
to completion-on time & within budget.

Technical: Results oriented with ability to lead complex IT assignments. Ability to perform job tasks
independently, with minimal supervision. May need to handle multiple projects/initiatives
simultaneously, adjusting to change and continually aligning priorities to ensure the most important
efforts to the company are completed. Broad IT knowledge and experience on the multiple IT solutions
that could encompass the business partner’s entire technical solution set (e.g.. SAP, .Net, and custom
systems).

- Proven experience in the implementation of SAP ECC with a comprehensive understanding of


FICO, MM, PP and SD functionality in a manufacturing environment.
- 8-10 years working with SAP ECC in a technical and/or functional capacity.
- Leadership roles in at least two successful, full lifecycle implementations preferred.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Word, Visio and Project
- Experience with enterprise application development and support, IT Service Management
concepts and ITIL framework
- Working knowledge of the technical layers of SAP environments, SAP Basis concepts, multi-tier
landscapes, databases and business warehouse reporting environments
- Strong project management fundamentals and capabilities; PMP certification is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change management initiatives related to
modernization of processes and systems
- Understanding of multiple programming languages, SAP ABAP and software development cycles
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with service providers and consulting resources to
complete projects on time and on budget
- Strong ability to take responsibility and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to simultaneously lead and contribute to multiple projects and works streams; high level
of flexibility to accommodate changing priorities
- Ability to develop strong working relationships and effectively collaborate with others at all
levels of an organization
