Lusaka, Zambia 27 September, 2010 – Thomson Reuters, the global information group is pleased to announce it has commenced feeds of real-time data from the Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE) increasing equity trading opportunities for its local and global clients. The introduction of real-time market data for investors and traders using Thomson Reuters Eikon or Reuters 3000Xtra includes the bid and ask price, volumes, market depth, latest trades and related information on equities. More than 20 securities are listed on the Lusaka Stock Exchange. Until now the LuSE market data provided by Thomson Reuters was updated once a day, after market close. Zambia’s Stock Exchange is the latest African exchange that Thomson Reuters has switched to realtime data, following Kenya’s Nairobi Stock Exchange, the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the Ghana Stock Exchange. Thomson Reuters is the first information provider to bring real-time data from the Lusaka Stock Exchange to investment professionals throughout the world. Effectively this means global investors who want to invest in Zambia now have enhanced accessibility to the Lusaka Stock Exchange’s data, thereby reinforcing market transparency.
