By: Payman Akhlaghi I tried. I tried to build, to climb A tower so high, So I could meet you On the throne of your dreams. I tried, so hard, But the chaos of words Did not let me finish. I tried. I tried to run, to leap Across fields so vast, So I could hand you a rose On the hills of desire. I tried, so hard, But the flood did not let me reach. I tried. I tried to dive, to swim Back to the origin,

So I could see again when you lit My world with the first Hello. I tried, so hard, But time had its own limit. I tried. I tried to speak, to shout Beyond seven walls of longing So I could ask you to water a grass In the dire soil of my heart. I tried, so hard, But the wind howled out my cry, my wish. I tried.
