A. Maintenance to Traction machine

1. Security technology check of Traction machine.

1) Whether the motor is dry; use 500 V meter to measure how many trillion

ohms of outside crust. The resistance value should be >0.5MQ. If the value is

<0.5MQ, the motor should be processed with the dried isolation.

2) The motor should be cleaned often. Gas, engine oil and kerosene oil must

not be used for cleaning the motor, loops etc. At the same time, check whether

there are sundries inside; sometime, the rat and bird will be inside causing the

failure in the electronic and machine and it will damage the equipment.

3) To ensure a fine contact in electric brush, change or repair it before it

worn-out.

4) Check the lubrication situation of the bearing. The lubricating oil (grease)

should be fully filled into the bearing before delivery. The internal lubrication oil

(grease) should keep outside the oil line; the lid of the oil and oil level indicator

should not leak and the lubrication oil should be clean. The oil circle can rotate

freely; lid of the bearing should be sealed well, in case the sundries entering

and blocking the circle and causing failure function of lubrication, and the

leading the result of bearing bush burned. The running motor will strangely

vibrate while the bearing bush is worn-out; therefore, it increases the much

more additional stress on coupling and worm shaft, and causing the failure
operation of elevator.

5) The water and oil should not enter inside the motor while it is running. The

foundation bolt should be tight. The two semi-coupling sectors connected with

the motor and worm shaft should have proper stress to avoid the failure

operation of the elevator.

6) The motor has no loud noise while running; a few motors have a little bit

magnetic noise (i.e. magnetic buzz) and it is normal. Check whether the gap

(space) is even between the stator and the rotator if the abnormal sound is

heard. The bearing should be changed if the gap and the tolerance exceed

0.22mm.

7) The decelerator box of the Traction machine should be cleaned once a year;

the worm bearing should apply lithium lubrication grease once and clean once

a year; in the normal operation condition, the every part of decelerator box and

bearing should not exceed the temperature of 70 degree centigrade; the oil

inside the decelerator should not exceed 85 degree centigrade.

8) Motor should not operate under the voltage less than 7% of rated voltage.

Because in this situation, the output torsion is much more lower, the motor is

operating with an over load while the bearing load keeping the same.

Therefore, the motor may burn and is forced to stop.


2. Standard for normal Traction machine

2.1 Normal operation:

1) Output force can achieve the requirement of famous brand of elevator while

the current is within the allowed scope.

2) Stator and rotator’s temperature do not exceed 25 degree

centigrade( thermometer measurement); the bearing temperature does not

exceed 80 degree centigrade;

3) Slide ring and commutator operate without sparkling;

4) Every vibration value and deviating value of bearing should not be less

than the value as followings:

2.2 No lost parts (and meet the required quality)

1) There is no obvious dust and oil stain inside the motor; No worn-out sign,

movement and color changed on coil, iron core and slot; the test experiment is
qualified.

2) Under hot condition of the insulation resistance it should not be less than 1

megohm per kilovolt.

2.3 The body is clean and complete with full spare parts.

1). The label on the box is with clear text.

2). Starting, protecting and measuring devices are full. It should be chosen

correct and flexible. The connectiong part of the cable should be up to the

requirements.

3). The outlook is clean and bearing is at good condition. Spare parts and

grounding device are complete.

2.4 The technical files are complete and accurate.

3. The machine room installed Traction machine should meet the requirement

as following:

1) The protection method from humidity, evaporation, pipe leaking, oil, acid

and alkali;

2) The ground should not have accumulated water; the base level should be

higher 250mm above the water;

3) Good ventilation: there is no other objects block the air to freely flow around

the machine;

4) It has enough place and space to dismantle, clean and check the motor;

5) It has the method to protect the carbon brush and commutator from the

harm of stain, dust or other things;


Traction machine has mounted on the cast-iron base by the manufacture

factory. It is un-necessary to dismantle and re-install the motor and the

retarder (speed reducer), and there is no need to process the installation

adjustment to the motor.

The mat under the motor’s base plate should be plain. To ensure that all the

contacted surfaces contact the foundation plate and motor base; the layers of

mat should not exceed two; it can be replaced if the thickness is improper.

B. Maintenance of Detent
1. Technical safety check for detent:

1) Pay more attention to check and maintenance on the primary spring,

ensuring the braking force. During the check, switch on the pad of switch to the

position of full saturation first, and then loose it to open the brake pad. By hand

touch, the spring can be felt whether it is soft; it also can be beaten by hand

hammer, and to check whether there is a crack on the spring through the

sound.

2) Check all the parts whether operate normally and whether are blocked;

lubricate once a week on all nodes and connections.

3) Check whether the brake pad attaching on the braking wheel, whether two

ends of braking pad deviating from the body of brake pad.

4) Check whether the surface of braking wheel is fine, adjust the screw and

check whether the locking screw is loose.



2. Key point of check:
1) Brake must be flexible. The detent pad should attach closely to the wheel
working surface. Newly changed the braking belt, it requires that the
attached area is more than 80%. The method: using the circle and point
method to measure (i.e. surrounding measurement or 8 points
measurement); the pad should depart the braking wheel while loosing the
brake, there is no partial friction. The speed of elevator should not exceed
100mm (0.5m/s).
2) The connection of magnetic coil should not loose. The external of the coil
should be isolated well to prevent the short circuit. When the DC magnetic
brake looses the pad, the contactor breaks and the economic resistance
will be connected to the circuit loop, then the temperature drops, the
voltage on the two ends of the circuit is 110V while it starts normally; the
temperature of the magnetic coil (55+5V) must not exceed 60 degree
centigrade.
3) The bolt pin of Brake is flexible and the thinner lubricating oil can be used
on it. If worn-out part is 5% of the original diameter of the bolt pin or the
ellipse degree exceeds 0.5mm, the new bolt pin should replace the old one.
The rod system or spring should change on time if there is a crack found on
them.
4). The electric magnet is flexible inside the copper brush. If necessary, it
can paint with graphitepowder( it can be replaced by lead mince)

5) The brake belt should be oil and painting free to avoid the over sliding.

Scratch gently using knife or clean using kerosene can reduce the braking

torque; the embedding head of nail of new brake belt is no less than 3 mm. At

any time, the nail head can not contact the braking wheel; if the worn-out

thickness of brake belt reaching 1/4 of the original thickness, the new braking

belt should be changed.


6) In order to guarantee the even space between the braking pad and braking
wheel, to add the even force on the whole contacting surface, it needs to
adjust the mat to the base of the brake, to make the center lines of the brake
pad and brake wheel keeping horizontal and achieve the requirement of the
center height combining the straightness. Check the sill anchor whether is
rotating and does the mat deviate.
7) Check whether the brake losing device is stable. The method and the
adjustability is same (see the section of adjustment of brake device).
8) Check two iron cores space and measure different space of braking losing
and braking situations of the bolt and rod.
9) Braking wheel surface should not have scratch and high temperature coking
granule; otherwise, it should be polished smoothly.

3. Adjustment for braking force and magnetic force.

1) In order to make the brake having enough loosing force, the space

between two iron cores should be adjusted. The method: loosen it using

spanner and adjusting the space of screws, then screw down tightly.

Two sides screws should be turned according to the direction of clockwise

while adjusting roughly, making the two iron cores closed totally, to measure

the length of exposed outside part of the bolt rod and make sure the lengths

are equal.

During the rough adjustment, one side retreats 0.3mm as the right position and

tight it without any touch; taking off the other side screw and adjusting the two

bolt rod to the total length 0.5-1mm, i.e. the space between two iron cores is

0.5-1mm. The retreat value of the bolt rod can be measured using a meter (if

using steel ruler or tape measure, it is not precise).

2) The adjustment for braking torque

The braking torque appears from the primary spring. The compressing value

should be adjusted, the method:


Losing the pressed screw of the primary spring, (part of braking belt), screwing

the adjustment screw to reduce the length of the spring and increase the

elasticity, making the torque bigger; or to reduce the elasticity of the spring

through screwing out the screw, making the torque smaller; the screw should

be pressed tightly after adjustment.

Note:

a. Should make the two ends of the primary spring have equal length and

adjust to the proper position.

b. The braking force should be enough while the car door going down, and

stopping rapidly and being on the statistic stably.

c. The car door should not be too sharply, should keep the calm and stable

brake, to realize rapidly brake with a smooth slid. Therefore, the braking torque

should not be over big.

d. If the braking torque is over small, the car door can not stop rapidly to

influence the equal layer precise. Even occurs the car door sliding or non equal

layer.

e. Brake will be worn-out after long period operation. Especially it has a rapid

worn-out speed at the early usage. After the wearing in between the braking

belt and braking wheel, the wearing in action will slow down. The primary

spring will stretch (expend) along with the brake belt worn-out, therefore, the

torque is smaller and smaller; For the convenience of adjustment, it is better to


make the marks on the double heads rod with the length of the spring after

brake adjustment finished. When the worn-out spring expended, the spring

can be adjusted to the original length according to the mark line, to ensure the

brake torque keep the same.

3) Space adjustment with the brake pad and brake wheel.


a. The space between brake pad and brake wheel should be even. The space
distance should be less than 0.7mm at any place.
b. Adjustment method: losing the manual brake losing device to loss the brake
pad. At this moment, two iron cores are closed together. Rotating two nails
screwing in or out, check the brake pad earnestly. The measurement value
should be same as possible. If it is the proper adjustment, the space between
brake pad and brake wheel should be 0.4-0.5mm.
4. Device adjustment
Check the elevator, the motor, adjust the space of brake pad, release the
safety clip and stop the car door, turn the switch to make the car door return to
the original place, release brake pad of brake device to rise or lower the car
door. The method: using spanner to hold the two heads rods and rotating 90°,
fix it on the bevel of cam wheel of the two heads rods and push out the rod of
brake, the brake pad is off the brake wheel and the finish losing brake action.
The reposition method is to rotate of two heads screw rod with 90°in the
different direction. Make the bevels re-attach again under the action of the
primary spring and the brake resume the original situation.

C. Check and Maintenance for Speed Reducer

1. Check Method:

1) Moving the box lid and rotate the motor manually, to check the wearing out

situation of the gear.

2) Another method is to load to the car door (internal carrier), make it has

balanced weight, then over weight in one side, the worm wheel deviates under

the force, and the deviation value is the gear’s wearing out value. If the
deviation value is huge, it means that the gear has been worn-out totally; next

method is simple, it is un-necessary to hang the car door on the top of the

motor room through over weight equipment. This method has a disadvantage

that the internal worn-out situation can not be observed.

3. Standard for change worm wheel and worm rod:

1) It should be replaced when the gear tooth space exceeds 1 mm, and the

strong impact has occurred in operation, or the worn-out thickness is 15 %

of the original thickness of the gear tooth.

2) To guarantee the meshing feature, the pair gears should be changed

together.

3.The speed reducer should be checked often. The key point is to check the
quality of the oil and the quantity of the oil.
1) Choosing lubrication oil: applying oil for worm wheel and worm rod of the
elevator speed reducer box has a good result. Normally, we can add the
30# oil for gear or 24# or 38# gasoline.
2) The lubrication oil should be added with proper amount. It will be hot and
loss the capacity if it too much, the bubbles will appear and make the
quality of oil bad rapidly and the failure quality to use.
3) The rational level of oil: the highest level reaches the center of worm rod
and lowest level reaches gear height of worm rod while the worm rod is in
the low position. The highest level reaches 1/6 of the worm wheel’s
diameter and lowest level reaches the gear height while the worm rod is on
upper position.
4) After the new installation or complete reparation, the lubrication oil should
be changed after 8-10 days operation; then, change once every half year to
keep the oil clean; then according to the clean situation of the oil, change
once in an half year or once a year.
5) Clean the speed reducer while change the oil; put the filter on the oil input,
pour in after filtration; the oil replaced should be recycled.
5) The rolling bearing should use grease (grease with calcium base); it must
fully fill 2/3 of hollow cave of bearing and add once a month (the grease
should be fully fill in the cup, the method is to fill the cup fully with
lubrication grease, rotate the cup lid 2/3-1 and squeeze the cup to add);
every year clean once and change once; when the speed reducer
operating normally, the motor, parts and bearing degree are no more than
70℃. If the temperature exceeds 80℃, or uneven, grinding and cutting,
impact noise occurring, it should be repaired on time and the bearing
should be changed.

4. We observe whether there is any leaking oil in the connection places of

bearing, box lid and oil window lid.

1) It is frequent disadvantage that leaking oil on the bearing of worm rod. The

oil seal should be changed on time.

2) Pay attention to the following things while oil seal installation: the lip of seal

roll should face inside; the pressing screw should be screwed alternately, the

pressing lid presses the oil seal evenly. The wool blanketry must be soaked

with engine oil before installation, therefore, to reduce the friction between the

small wool blanketry and neck of axis, and also improve the function of seal.

4. Must check earnestly about the connection of gear of the worm wheel and

the wheel pipe. The screw should not deviate; matching connection

between wheel pipe and primary bearing (axis) is not losing; use hand

hammer to check whether there is any crack on the wheel pipe.

5. It is normally installed thrust ball bearing with double directions on the one

end of the worm rod; check the thrust base roll, to know whether there is

any over worn out situation. The abnormal worn out situation will lead to a

big gap, then the force of the axis may transfer to the bearing of the motor
to lead the over heat and disintegrating; it also make the coupler’s flexible

roll jumping in the hole and damaging quickly.

6. The anchor bolt should be check often and it is not allowed loosing.

7. Installation and maintenance of speed reducer:

1) The elevator should apply the speed reducer with worm wheel and worm

rod. It has the advantage of less noise, stable movement transferring, small

volume etc.

2) The worm rod normally applies the sliding bearing and bears the radial

force. The precise should not be lower than grade D.

3) The worm wheel axises all apply the rolling bearings and the precise is not

lower than grade E; the precise of the bearing influences the noise and life

span. The replaced bearing should meet the precise requirement.

4) The worm rod does not install on the box of the speed reducer directly.

They separately installed on the bearing support and bearing base; the

bearing support installs on the Traction machine’s base; the short bearing

base installs on the box body. So the center space of the worm rod can be

adjusted. The adjustment method: adding or reducing the ring mat on the

bottom of the bearing support and short bearing.

5) The oil blocking plate is attached on the gear wheel pipe of worm wheel

and sealed with blanketry. Therefore, there is rare oil leaking on the part of
worm rod bearing.

6) The worm wheel applies the seal ring and stuff sealing. Therefore, if the

rotating speed is higher under the oil level, the oil leaking situation will

occur.

7) It is not allowed put the mat under the box while installing reducer; if the

base is not even, the file, scratch knife should be used for the machine

processing till it meets the requirement.

8) In order to make the worm rod rotating flexibly, the proper side space

between gear teeth is needed. The lowest side space is called guarantee

side space. Therefore, the flexible space of worm rod and worm wheel

should meet the requirement (stipulation).

D.Traction rope maintenance

1.Technical performance requirements

(1)The suffered tension of all elevator traction rope should be balanced, if

there is imbalance in the tension, the nut on the wire rope sleeve bolt could

adjust the tightness of the spring to the average;

(2)Lubrication of wire rope should be adapted to reduce friction loss between

the wires, and protect the surface rust, there is an original oil ma-core inside,

and oil gradually leaked in use, the new rope is not to be coated with oil, after

some time, the oil gradually depleted and need to be regularly oiled, oil should

be thin, not too much, so that slight penetration rope surface lubrication (oil can

be hand-touch sense). When the permeability should be excessive degreasing,


anti-slipping phenomenon caused by excessive oil leakage;

(3)Check the wire rope to see whether there is mechanical damage, wire

break, off shares of the situation, corrosion and wear or not, and rust head is

intact and without loosening.

(4)After a certain time of use, broken wires appear, pay more attention to

inspection and the number of broken wires;

(5)elevator traction rope retirement criteria:

Wire rope size 8 × 19 ma-core, foreign exchange twist coarse;

a. When the wire rope wear or corrosion is 10% more than the original

diameter of broken wires, it should be scrapped;

b. When there is breaking on the rope, it should be scrapped.

2. Maintenance art:

(1) Wire rope safety technical inspection

a. Rope wire for elevator, tested before the suspension, in general, the

products produced have a certificate, may, without trial

b. Test before the new rope suspension, if there was breakage, bending failure

sectional area and wire cross-sectional area, and when the ratio is 6%, it is not

allowed using.

c.A comprehensive inspection of wire rope, its period of use and security

largely depends on good maintenance, regular inspection, according to the


provisions of new ones; new ones to justice should be consistent with the

original design requirements, such as other types of alternative, will have to

recalculate In addition to rope diameter to meet the requirements, the breaking

force is not less than the original request;

d. Measuring the diameter of the rope with its cylindrical, said the biggest with

a caliper to measure the outer circle at the actual data points> 0.9 ~ 0.95x the

nominal diameter of rope for qualified table;

e. Check once a week, to easy to damage, broken wires and rusty iron for a

stop check, the prominent part of the broken wires should be cut in check, and

wrote down on the logbook;

Inspection methods: the slow moving elevator in the engine room, careful

visual inspection on the rope wheel traction, or bypass the whole process of

yarn around the ropes, if the rope had broken wire, the breakage will cotton to

hook, a small amount of wire is not broken to be replaced, can still be used, but

the following inspections to be especially careful: In a twist from the (7 ~ 7.2

times the rope diameter) the number of broken wires within the wire, such as

more than 2% of the total number of weekly as required by inspection;

Whether there is spot, off shares on wire rope surface, dry or not, rust, or

force even or not are in scope of the inspection, special attention to justice in a

stable period abnormal elongation or the number of broken wires, such as: any

significant elongation for three consecutive days, or in a twist from the broken
wires in there every day, already close to failure, should be replaced.

After room check of the rope, then check the shaft rope, stand to the car

top crime of driving with the top of the elevator on the weight balance of the car

and check the rope connected to the fixed weight part, and then start a slow

devices have calcium-based anti-corrosion grease.

3.Rope update standards

(1)Elevator traction rope line with the requirements under the table when the

update should be scrapped.

Note: a. If the surface were not damaged (that is, the surface wear or corrosion

of steel wire diameter of the percentage of total 0%), while the corresponding

4.Proper use of steel drawstring:

(1)rope coupling method: In order to reduce the wire rope breaking Feng is not,

steps:

a. rope dismantled and then cleaned with kerosene, rope tied. The length of

rope plunge L1 = 20mm, rope length and diameter of the rope: When the rope

higher than the rope L3 = 15 ~ 20mm.

(2) Cable tension adjustment method:

b. Multi rope hoist ropes required equal force; use the wire rope tensioning

5. Elevator rope use and maintenance:

(1) wire connectors are not allowed;

(2) the force of each rope must be equal;


(3) The wire rope must be properly lubricated.

There is an oil ma-core in center, immersed in making a special lubricant

inside the ropes when the harm rust, leakage of oil lost after prolonged use,

requiring regular fuel, the best wire rope oil (Gepei oil) can also be used as the

concentration of 30 # 45 Medium # oil, refueling method: bottom of the car to

slow up, pay particular attention to fuel oil can not drip on the brake wheel, oil

on should be too much oil can be hand-touch sense, is not part of the rope

around the Earth must be coated with anti-traction appearance of corrosion

protection.

(4) Spare wire rope should be stored in dry, ventilated room at the bottom with

a wooden implement high of not less than 30mm, rope surface painted with

preservatives, annual inspections, storage of more than five years when the

tensile test with.

(5) Wire Rope devastating corrosion, outer corrosion and will easily spread

inward, beware of hidden damage.

(6) wire rope shall be of wood volume in the volume wheel, with wooden

wheels when turning the volume release wire rope to avoid rope circle or

Knot complement breaking loose or a wire.

(7) elevators running, rail joints are not straight or uneven, guide shoes and

guide wire in the gap caused by transport over the General Assembly

Line vibration, drivers to take to move the flat layer, the only damage to

electrical components, wire rope will also generate additional dynamic loads
due to electrical damage.

E. Maintenance to Over-speed Governor safety technical inspection

1.Inspection methods

(1) The safety rope inspection and maintenance of the same rope with traction,

have the same importance, maintenance people stood on its top, elevator in

well run slow in inside, carefully inspect the rope, check with the noose

subjected to grasp its frame in case of falling bottom.

(2)The role of the tongue pressed hard, its surface should be evenly work

closely with the rope, the action should be carefully examined after release to

see whether there is broken wire rope pressure, indentation, bending, and

marked with paint for re-examination.

(3)When running the elevator,If there is abnormal crash or knock with the

speed controller check with the rope round centrifugal hammer and fixed with

centrifugal plate hammer links, check whether the screw loose when wear and

centrifugal hammer caused by deformation, imbalance between when

enlargement, two centrifugal hammer weight not consistent will make noises

vibration.

Hammer cover over short or wrong direction teeth, centrifugal hammer mask

on screens rather than hammer.

6. Maintenance staff should master a general low-speed elevators (1m / s or

forced deceleration switch. The second stage should be used as limit switches.

Deceleration devices, an end station or switch-level gear, the operating time

should be slightly after the switch to its normal deceleration at the same level.

I. Finial limit switch maintenance

1. Safety Technical Inspection of the Final limit switch.

1).Limit switch is the last protection of the cabin. It is the same with the safety

gear which is hardly used in the operation. However, it should be maintained or

inspected carefully.

2). Check the flexibility of the operation. Add lubrication to each partly from

time to time. Due to the failure of limit switch or other situation, the elevator

cannot stop on time. The final switch works at the stated distance from the

floor ( about 50-200mm) to cease the elevator by cutting the power supply.

3). Prevent the cable from rust. Check the stretching force and the position of

the car cam frequently.

4). Check the mobility of the rope clamp. If there is rust or dust on the rope

within the clamping parts, cut the rope and reconnect.

5). Check the installation situation. When the limit switch is installed on the

wall of the machine room, it should be 1.3-1.5 m away from the ground. When

the final limit wire in the shaft cannot connect the finial limit switch sheave in

the machine room, add the veer pulley.


2. Maintenance and adjusting of the limit switch

1) The direction of the block should be correct otherwise they will not work.

2) The elevator must be ceased due to the final limit switch operation on

overtravel. Check the speed reducing switch, limit switch, leveling device until

the reason for the overtravel is clear.

When the elevator restart after the operation of the final limit switch, the

maintenance staff should wrench the manual wheel of the motor. When the

cabin comes back to the right landing floor wrench the handle of the limit

switch to reset the chain and the chain wheel and restart the power supply.

When the cabin comes to the landing floor, it is forbidden to wrench the handle

switch, because the cabin flap and the wire block are still in connection. If the

3) The chain is installed on the chain wheel. The chain rotates CCW

(counterclockwise), so the lengths are different. The correct installation is : left

4) Turn the adjusting part of the tension device to maximize the stretching

force of the wire. Some final limit switch uses the chain without chain wheel,

and one end of the driving rope should be tied to the end of the slot. For

accurate operation, roll the wire several circles around the sheave then pass

J. Maintenance of the buffer

1) Check the buffer periodically. Check if the buffer is moving, the bolt is

fastened. If it is not unto the norms, adjust and maintain on time.

2). The maintenance staff cannot step on the buffer when they go in or out of

the pit in case of deformation or shifting.

Maintenance for spring buffer: Paint anti-rust paint periodically to prevent the

rust on the surface.

Maintenance for the oil-pressure buffer:

A:Ensure the oil level. Check every season. When the level is lower, add oil.

B The exposing part of the buffer plunger should be clean and paint with
anti-rust lipa.

C: For annual inspection, reset the buffer when the elevator runs empty at

inspection speed. The resetting time should not exceed 120s.

K. Maintenance of Guiderail and guideshoe

1) For the guiderail with sliding guideshoe, the lubrication should be at good

condition. Clean the surface guiderail and add fine mineral oil lubrication in the

oil gauge periodically (GB7632). Adjust the spread length of the asphaltfelt

weekly and keep it clean. Check the guiderail periodically. The elevator should

run at low speed at inspection. Check the lubrication and the loosening of the

guiderail surface, connecting board, and the guiderail connecting parts.

Fasten all the bolts.

2) Check the attrition of the sliding guideshoe inner. The over attrition could

affect the steadiness of the elevator. The attrition of 2 sides working surface

should not exceed 1mm. For front surface, when the attrition exceeds 2mm,

renew it.

3) For elevators at poor working condition, clean the guiderail on time to

prevent dust, or rarity on the guiderail or fall into the guideshoe or block the

safety gear which will cost the mal-operation of the safety gear.

L. Maintenance of the counterweight

1) Check the lubrication condition of the sliding guiderail. Check the oil
quantity weekly and refill on time.

2) Check the spread length of the asphaltfelt. Ensure the clearance of the

guiderail and the sliding guideshoes to prevent the rarity or dust falling which

will wear the guiderail and the guideshoe bush.

3) Check the steadiness of the stone roller inside the counterweight. Fasten it

on time when it loosens to prevent the vibrating or moving at operation.

4) Check the flexibility of the counterweight sheave if there is any on the

counterweight shelf and add lubrication periodically.

5) Check the safety gear on the counterweight. The moving parts should be

flexible and reliable at move. Add lubrication to the link gear periodically.

M. Maintenance of the Control cabinet and Signal cabinet

Check the correctness of the indicating meter while touring(such as volt meter,

ampere meter etc); Check the flexibility and reliability of the contactor, relay if

there is noise or bad odour. The condition of the transformer, strip resistance,

commutator, and if there is any overheat.

For the control and signal cabinet, check periodically. Check them when the

power is off. The contents are as following:

1) Clean the dust inside the control or signal cabinet with soft brush, bellow or

vacuum cleaner. Clean up first then downward. Clean the relay,contactor,

indicating meter , transformer etc.

Check the fuse, indicating meter, resistance, contactor if there is any loose.
Fasten all the screws. For the burning parts of the contactor, relay, clean them

first with soft gauze by alcohol, gas or carbon tetrachloride. Check and adjust

the spring of the contactor, relay to make the connecting part work well with

enough pressure and extra. For the deformation due to outside force, change

the spring. For serious burning contact, replace the moving point and

stagnation point. Check the flexibility of the mechanical and electric interlock

of the direction contactor and the main relay

3) Check the wiring of the connecting part of the control and signal cabinet if

there is any loose. Check the correct choice of the fuse. If it is not proper,

replace it.
