Text of report by privately-owned Nepalnews.com website on 17 October

China's Ambasssador to Nepal Yang Houlan has claimed involvement of

'international powers' in the increasing anti-China activities that is
happening in Nepal. He, however, didn't categorically identify who were
involved in such activities.

Speaking at an interaction programme in the capital on Sunday [16

October], Yang claimed that he has credible information that the same
international powers are fuelling anti-China activities in Nepal so as
to adversely affect China's development, peace and stability.

"The anti-China activities in Nepal are not happening of its own accord.
A third side is fuelling it," the Chinese ambassador said.

Stating that China is constantly monitoring the anti-China activities

perpetrated by few individuals in Nepal, he also thanked the government
of Nepal of taking this serious matter with the sensitivity it requires.

He further said that Nepal's role in the greater stability and security
of China has been very "positive", adding that Nepal also knows very
well that the anti-China activities happening in Nepal is being fuelled
by the outsiders who are involved in this as a third side.

Talking about China's relationship with Nepal and India, he said there
exists no problems in the age-old ties between Nepal and China, Nepal
and India and China and India and said the tripartite relationship
should be based on mutual respect, cooperation and benefit.

The Chinese ambassador said that there is no problem in the relationship

between China and Nepal and that there will be high-level visits,
meetings and agreement between the two countries soon which, according
to him, will enhance and consolidate the ties further.
