PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
HORIZON LOGISTICS, Dallas, TX 2007-2010 General Manager, Logistics Responsible for enhancing Horizon’s North American transportation infrastructure. • Reduced year over year expense of the central transportation control center which executes over $125MM annually in intermodal transportation including the management of 21,000 containers. • Within 3 years grew a startup logistics organization to $60MM in freight under management. • Designed 3rd party service offerings including less than truckload, full truckload, contract carriage, and on demand transportation as well as Horizon’s supply chain practice. • Selected and implemented Transportation Management Software (MercuryGate) allowing the company to offer new and integrated services to clients. KUEHNE+NAGEL CONTRACT LOGISTICS, Naugatuck, CT 1999-2007 Director, Transportation Solutions Developed the transportation operations practice within USCO Logistics (now Kuehne+Nagel Contract Logistics). At USCO Logistics, I held the position of Vice President of Transportation Services. • Implemented the Corporate Transportation Control Center which was a key component of the K+N Contract Logistics integrated solution. This included the development of key alliance partnerships encompassing all modes of transportation as well as freight bill audit and payment. • Grew the transportation practice organically into a $75MM business with net margins in excess of 17 percent. • Successfully lead the project tasked with selection and implementation of transportation planning, modeling, and execution software (HighJump, Oracle, and i2).

Developed the Transportation Analytics Group which effectively supported the supply chain solutions team.

JONES – PAGE 2 PROFESSIONAL LOGISTICS, Walnut Creek, CA 1997-1999 Project Director Started a Transportation Control Center for national retailer Michaels Arts and Crafts (1500 stores) with freight under management exceeding $75MM. • Designed and implemented software for centralized load planning, reporting, and cost control. • Developed a cross-dock (flow through) network used for shipment consolidation as well as support of the client’s “last mile” delivery program. • Achieved savings to the client of $9MM over a three-year period reducing Michaels’ transportation expense as a percent of cost of goods sold to the lowest level in company history. • Significantly reduced ($3MM) private fleet expense. Prior Experience: Upon graduation from Ohio State University, completed the Consolidated Freightways 18-month Executive Management Training Program. Subsequently within the LTL industry, was awarded increasing levels of responsibility starting with sales management, terminal operations management, then progressing to Region and District management positions.
