Tank Storage Mix

Phosphate pulp will be transported from its place of production in the rubberized storage tank
(according to the specification of the project) and mixing by a conveyor belt, itself driven by a small
metering hopper.

The tank must be designed according to API650 and has a cylindrical section with a sloped bottom
(6%). Its main features are:

• aspect ratio, height / diameter of the ferrule = 0.75 / 1.3 (recommendation agitator suppliers for
operating reasons);

• the shell of tank diameter = 4.0 m;

• Freeboard = 1.0 m;

• Maximum liquid height = 5.2 m;

• net useful volume = 65.3 m³;

• total tank volume = 77.9 m³.

Heat exchanger
A heat exchanger type against the current and Double skin, maintain the temperature of the pulp at
20 ° C with a cooling water circuit (cold fluid). The required length of the exchanger is 10 m.

Accumulator tank of gas

During operations of the loop increases the speed of the pump needed to increase data rates will
cause a decrease in pressure in the suction. If the pressure is less than the NPSH required by the
pump, a phenomenon of cavitation appear. In order to prevent this to occur, an accumulator tank, 0.5
m³ of capacity and equipped with an orifice plate at the outlet, is installed upstream of the pump
suction.

The feeding system by conveyor

It consists of a receiving hopper whose bottom is equipped with a screw feeder pouring the ungraded,
controlled diet, on a conveyor belt for transfer to the storage tank and mixing. The screw feeder is
provided with a screw with progressive (from 1/3 of the screw diameter at the tail up to 3/3 of the
screw diameter in the discharge). The screw is driven by inverter to ensure a tight control of the
ungraded spilled flow on the strip. The

control of the screw works closely with a weighing bascule installed along the strip so that the amount
of ungraded introduced into the tank is finely controlled. The function of the conveyor belt is limited to
ensure a safe transfer of all-from the receiving hopper to the tank.

Note: OCP envisages using a hydraulic excavator Case CX470B, or equivalent, equipped with a
bucket capacity of 2.58 m³ to feed the receiving hopper. The hopper, with a net capacity of 10.9 m³,
will be oriented so that its length in the direction of operation of the shovel arm to minimize the risk of
spills.

The Power System Water: It is composed of a turbine-type pump equipped with a vertical axis motor 55 kW
ensuring a flow rate of 366 m³ / h. It will provide water to rinse the test loop and general water services, such
as water cleaning, hoses, and the dilution water.
