Sharon: Dali na! Akyat! Ano ba, Johnny, hanggang ngayon ba naman, ang bagal mo parin?

(Laughs)

Johnny: (Shouts from below) Sorry na ah! Sino ba naman kasi gumawa ng napaka hassle na treehouse na
‘to?

Sharon: Excuse me, pareho lang natin tong pinaghirapan, no! At saka kahit ano pang sabihin mo, ilang
bagyo na rin ang nasurvive neto. Biruin mo, 7 years na, buo pa rin, kahit papano. (Johnny finally
makes it to the top, Sharon makes a gesture offering him to sit beside her)

Sharon: Hala, hiningal kagad amp. (Laughs)

Johnny: Ikaw kasi, eh. (Laughs while panting)

Sharon: Ba’t ako nanaman? (Laughs)

Momentary silence.

Sharon: (Looks around, sighs) Ang tanda na rin pala ng treehouse na ‘to no? Medyo lumalambot na yung
kahoy, tapos maluwag na yung mga pako. Tignan mo.

Johnny: (Presses on the wooden floor) Ah.

Sharon: Ayusin ko kaya? Baka bumigay eh.

Johnny: Ngayon na? Grabe sipag mo talaga, kahit kailan.. Di pa naman ganun kasira.

Sharon: ….Pero ganun na kasira.

Johnny: Huh? Hindi. Iyan ka nanaman eh.

Sharon: …Ha? Ako nanaman?

Johnny: Oo. Lagi ka kasing nagmamadali….. Kaya tayo-

Sharon: (Scoffs) Kailangan naman talaga eh! Sino ba sa’tin napagod agad?

Johnny: Ah, ganun. Ako ba sumuko? ‘Di ba ikaw yun?

Johnny and Sharon look away from each other. Long silence. Sharon glances over at Johnny for a while, then looks
away. Johnny glances over at Sharon for a while, then looks away. Both catch each other’s next glances, and both
awkwardly look away. Long silence.

J&S: -Sige, ayusin natin.

-Sige, ‘wag muna.
Summary:
Johnny and Sharon were childhood best friends who built a treehouse together at a forest near their homes.
This treehouse was where they grew up together, got to know each other, and made precious, unforgettable memories
that could never have been made anywhere else. After a few years, they fell in love with each other and involved
themselves in a romantic relationship, which proved to be beautiful at the beginning, but did not work at the end. Johnny
and Sharon broke up, but agreed to preserve their friendship, even if they did not work as romantic partners, and they
did this by not breaking their tradition of meeting at their treehouse from time to time. In one of their meetings, they
realized that they want to save their romantic relationship because their feelings for each other still remained, but at
the end of the day, their attempt to save it did not work.
