1) The study aimed to determine the reading comprehension ability levels of 21 Grade VI pupils at Kinangay Sur Elementary School.
2) A test with selections and questions assessing literal, interpretative, evaluative, and creative comprehension was administered.
3) It was found that most pupils had average literal ability but very low higher-level thinking skills like interpretative, evaluative and creative abilities. Thus, their higher-level comprehension must be enhanced.
