Marie Black called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.

Minutes from May. Jewnita Clark moved to have the May minutes approved and Beverly
Raley seconded. All were in favor and the motion passed.

Circulation/Financial Reports. Statistics for May are down from April, however; with the
Summer Reading Program and school summer vacation they should increase.

Old Business.
A. Library Update. Bonnie Crawford shared that since the site for the new building has not
been settled, we are now looking at the opposite corner (in front of Family Dollar). The
Commercial Bank owns this site and will be voting on donating the piece of property to
us at their next Board meeting.

B. Amazon Sales. This month we sold three books totaling $73.34.

C. Summer Reading Program. Our Summer Reading Program (SRP) began on June 7th.
This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock” and was kicked off by Elvis, the King of Rock and
Roll. Cheryl has put together some good programs for the month. We will continue with
Lego Club, Popcorn and Movie and Pokémon.

D. Weeding. We are still in the process of deleting outdated and poorly circulated material.
The deleted books are for sale at greatly reduced prices, or we are giving them away.

E. Expanded Board. We are working on the expanded board and should have a list of
people who have accepted. We are looking for suggestions as to what we plan to call the
group.
New Business
A. New Building Plans. The IRS granted us 501c3 status, and Sandra immediately
notified Wiregrass Foundation. The Library has also applied for a low-interest rural loan
through the Department of Agriculture. Bonnie is optimistic and predicts that we could
break ground sooner than expected.

B. Funding. Our donations are all tax-deductible now and our field of donors is wide open.
A checking account has been opened at Commercial Bank for these donations. Jennifer
is keeping detailed records of all who donate because we want to honor the people who
believe in us.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 a.m., and the next meeting will be held on July 11th at 9
a.m.
