6. CONCLUSION
1. INTRODUCTION :

The Dengue is a type of a fever . It is a Flu like viral disease

which is spread by the bite of infected mosquito.
The AEDES AEGYPTI mosquito is most important transmitter or vector of
Dengue virus. It is called dengue fever due to the febrile symptoms of the patient..
A. CAUSE OF TRANSMISSION :
Dengue Viruses are transmitted through the bite of infected Female Aedes
Aegypti mosquitoes. The mosquitoes become infected with Dengue virus when it
bites a person who has dengue fever and after a week, it can transmit the virus
while biting a healthy person.
Dengue cannot spread direct from person to person through droplet spread.
B. SYMPTOMS :
Dengue fever is an acute febrile infection. The principal symptom of Dengue is
high fever, severe headache, backache, joint pain, nausea and vomiting, eye pain
and skin rashes. Generally, younger children have a milder illness than older
children and adults.
C. DIAGNOSIS :
The diagnosis is most important by a blood test. The test can show whether the
blood sample contains dengue virus or antibodies to the virus.
D. FATAL FORM :
Sever form of the dengue is the Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). It is caused
by infection with the same virus that cause dengue. It can be fatal if unrecognized
and not properly treated, because in this state the bleeding from nose and GI tract
may occur during the Febrile period. Sometimes rashes appear in which intense
itching makes uneasiness.
E. MANAGEMENT :
There is no specific medication for Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. It can be treated
by fluid replacement therapy.
If an early clinical diagnosis is made, with good medical management mortality
due to DHF can be less than 1%.
The mosquitoes that spread dengue live among humans and breed in discarded
tyres, flower pots, old oil drums and water storage containers close to human
dwellings.
2. OBJECTIVE :
The objectives of this study is to teach the target group for
Prevention from dengue through the appropriate measures.
Prevention is better than cure – In poor communities treatment mean spending
money on something, which could easily have been avoided if proper preventive
measures had been taken. Therefore, for implementing any message some steps
have to be taken:-
A. First to identify the main problem and cause of the small group selected from the
Community.
B. Find preventive measures relevant to the problem.
C. Develop suitable message for the target group.
D. Spread the message with the help of teaching aids and means.
E. Check the effect, result of the message on the target group, and modify the
message if required.
MESSAGE AREA:
A. Before spreading the Dengue –
i. Do not let mosquitoes breed in and around the house or locality.
ii. Clean all the stagnant water drains.
iii. Put a little kerosene oil on pools and marshes.
iv. Never left any broken pots and containers, which can collect water.
v. Keep communication with the health workers of the area.
vi. Always use mosquito net for sleeping.
vii. If you suspect disease than immediately get the treatment.
B. Management after spreading Dengue –
i. The diagnosis is most important by a blood test. The test can show
whether the blood sample contains dengue virus or anti bodies to virus.
ii. Some symptoms may indicate the dengue as high fever, sever
headache, nausea and vomiting, sever joint pains, muscular pain and
rashes on skin.
iii. No isolation of the patient is required and patient should be
encouraged to drink plenty of fluid for cleaning bowels to prevent
from constipation.
iv. Dengue fever is a specific fever, which runs a certain course.
Therefore, there is no any rapid care for the febrile affection.
v. Treatment of the confirmed case of the dengue is recommended with
medicine to control the high fever and pain.
vi. During the acute febrile state of illness virus can be isolated from the
blood by using new advance techniques
3. METHODOLOGY :

A. IDENTIFICATION OF THE PROBLEM : In the month of July 2018, there

was out-breaking of Dengue in the NCR region. I visited the nearby area to ensure
the existing problem.

B. TARGET AREA : A small labour basti, in Kotla Mubarakpur.

C. TARGET GROUP : In this Basti 157 families are living, all

industrial worker/laborer and also illiterate. I found four people lying sick in their
homes.

D. SAMPLING : I selected 20 persons out of the target group, who were interested
to discuss the problem.

Mr.Rampravesh and MrBalmiki, health workers took the sick persons to the hospital for
treatment.
Three out of them were found with dengue symptoms and one of them was relieved
after
some treatment.
Next day health workers came with pesticide sprayers, to spray in the drains and
homes.
I gathered nearly 50 members of the group with the help of health workers to make

I explained the answers of the questionnaire with the help of health workers to all the
gathered members.

After conducting many discussions and visits, I found that the members
of the target group were conscious towards their health and Dengue.
They were doing drains clean and all potholes were filled, beside this they were
familiar with the health workers and were not hesitating to ask questions about the
