Leading Authority in the Field of Best Practices in Negotiation
Dr. Benoliel is the author, co-author, and editor of the books titled, Negotiating (2009); The Upper Hand (2006); Done Deal: Insights from Interviews with the World’s Best Negotiators (2005), which was selected by The Chicago Tribune as one of the best business books of 2005; Negotiation and Persuasion (World Scientific, 2011, forthcoming), and Negotiation Handbook (World Scientific, 2012, forthcoming). Some of Dr. Benoliel’s media interviews and appearances include: Bloomberg Television; CAN TV Channel 21, Chicago; BusinessWeek; Straits Times (Singapore); The Deal; The Washington Diplomat; The Wall Street Radio Network; WXRK New York; and Reuter. Dr. Benoliel is Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Practice at SMU. In 2008 he was listed in the Dean’s Teaching Honour List, Term 1 and Term 2, and was also nominated to the Innovative Teacher Awarad, 2009, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. His more than 20 years of academic experience includes teaching Effective Negotiation in the MBA and in the Graduate Executive Program at The Johns Hopkins University; University of Maryland University College; and Singapore Management University. He received his doctorate degree in Human Resource Development from The George Washington University (in Washington, D.C. USA) and his doctoral dissertation was selected as a finalist to the Donald Bullock Award. His students nominated him several times to the Best Teacher Award. Dr. Benoliel was trained in the Participant Centered Learning method at the Harvard Business School, Harvard University. He is also a certified mediator and certified trainer in Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI). In 1991 he received the Special Achievement Award from The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD, D.C. Chapter). Dr. Benoliel also serves on the Editorial Boards of NMIMS Management Review Journal; and the Eurasia Business Review (EBR) Dr. Benoliel is a Senior Consultant with The Negotiation Academy Europe. In his 20-year career as a management consultant and corporate trainer, he has provided services in Effective Negotiation and Conflict Management to organizations in the United States, Asia, and Africa.
