Oh, for the cries of a society lost,

drowning face down in promiscuous pleasures,
of endless entertainments that tease,
but never satisfy ...

Oh, for the sincerity of inner man,

who weeps for the vile creatures we truly are,
and the creatures we aspire to be,
but shall never see ...

Oh, for a world rich in its suffering,

where poverty's drug of choice is that of hope,
'till illegal drugs render hope a dope,
because dope is so much easier to smoke ...

Oh, for words that adequately describe,

all the pain hidden inside that time won't heal,
from maggot laden wounds sorely festered,
but others cannot feel …

Oh, for a shrink who can really think,

beyond any brink of smugly whacking his dink,
while sadistically savoring every patient's psychosis,
as another prognosis of pouring himself a good stiff drink ...

Oh, for the cries of a society lost,

within wet clammy darkness of deepest shadows,
of those who ooze emanation's proclamations so confident,
while living in horrid torments to make hell cower in fear ...

Oh, for the cries of a society lost …
