Creating an attractive profile
A very important section is creating a perfect profile, which will have an effect on students who want to book a lesson with you, or are interested in doing so.

Log in and welcome page
To have access to everything that will follow, please login with your username and password. Once you login, you will be directed to the welcome page, it contains the Journal, alarms, upcoming lessons, some of your courses and more. On top right of the page, you will see „My Myngle‟‟, on this page, you will see all your upcoming lessons with details of packages, subscriptions bought by students, and also you will have access to pages on previous lessons taught and payments which have been made.

Next to „‟My Myngle‟‟ on the top right, is “Edit profile“, which enables you to edit everything on your profile (except changing your username). Lastly, my courses, gives you access to all the courses you have on your profile (including courses you created, added, or Myngle‟s own custom-made courses).

How do you present yourself to the students?
In this part, we will talk about several points, to help you get in contact with students before they book a lesson. First of all is your
Username

Your user name should be a real name which is easy to memorize and search for, as it will be the first thing the student will view and remember about you. Your username is also your login name. If you would like to change your username at anytime, please contact helpdesk@myngle.com to do so, as it is not possible to change it anywhere on your profile. Now, moving on to the second most important part on your profile, which is your picture.
Your picture

Your picture should be a clear shot of your face, taken in good lighting, please avoid any pictures which actually do not resemble you as a person ( such as logo`s, animal or children pictures and so on…. ). When you try to upload your picture, it‟s better to have it prepared in a small size, if you need to resize it, please do so before you start uploading. To upload a picture, follow these instructions  On the top right of the page, you will see (Welcome –with your username-, and below it “Edit profile” click on it.

Page | 4

On the next page “profile editing”, you will see the picture of the Myngle parrot or your picture if you have already tried to upload it before, click below on it (to change your image). Once you click on it, a small pop up window will appear (if it doesn‟t appear, check and adjust your browser settings, as it may be blocked, please allow them), and choose “upload a picture”, browse for the picture on your computer, and click on “upload picture”, your picture will appear on the pop up box, if you need to resize it again, use the small rectangle to do so as it shows. When you have the image size you want, click on “OK” to upload it. You will receive a small message confirming that it has been uploaded successfully. Please note that the accepted formats are JPG. Bitamp and Ping, the smaller the file, the easier it is to upload. http://www.myngle.com/forum/kb/id/107

In case of any problems, please check our troubleshooting solutions section.
Troubleshooting: (text: When I select a certain part of the photo, I see another part instead).

 I attempted to resize my photo using the square but it was not successful.  My picture is not clear If any of the these issues occur, please try to resize the picture online or using additional software , then try to upload it again, if it is still blurred, then the issue is with the quality of the picture, try again using a better quality picture . If the problem persists, please contact our tech team at helpdesk@myngle.com.
The Journal

This is a very important tool. It has proven to be effective in delivering messages to students quickly and easily. Let‟s look at how to use it: On the main banner, click on “Home”, it‟s the first page you will see when you login. The first white box you will see with “Journal” is our target, you will see an empty space in it, this enables you to write what you want in it. Always use this “Journal”, to show students you have something new to offer (for example a new course, demo lesson, group lesson ) or to
Page | 5

give personal updates (e.g. if you are going on vacation, you would want to make sure students read the message as soon as they log on ). Make sure your Journal is kept updated, since it reflects your status, along with the different courses you offer (one course at a time ), or something you specialize in such as ( Exam preparation for IELTS ) .Once you have written your Journal entry, click on “Submit”, and it will be linked to your profile directly, and displayed next to your name.

What does a student need to know before they select you as their teacher?
‘Teaching experience’ and ‘About me’:

Starting with your “Teaching experience”: It‟s very important to complete this section, as it‟s the first piece of information shown below your general information and picture. Students are very interested in finding out about you as a teacher, especially when and where you started teaching, your teaching methodology, your specialization, and if you have extensive experience teaching a certain part of the language. This part should be at least 2 lines long, providing basic information. However the more the student knows about you, the more likely he or she will book a lesson, since his or her questions will have already been answered in this part. Also, do not forget to list how many years of experience you have teaching both online and offline, along with any teaching degrees you have obtained.

Page | 6

The second part is the “about me “section: Here you can write more about yourself as a person, your hobbies, interests, things you love to do, maybe if you have traveled a lot and the effect this has had on you in becoming a teacher or teaching a language. It is always good to let the student feel he knows you a little on a personal level, thus to break the ice and compensate for not carrying out an initial face to face meeting.
Time zone and availability

In this section you will find information about, your time zone and how to manage your availability and day to day schedule:
First: the Time zone

All teachers and students are required to choose their country and time zone. This helps as each person views the teachers schedule on Myngle in their own time zone. It is automatically changed to suit that: for example, if you`re living in France, your time zone will be GMT+1, if you choose to be available on Monday from 12 till 3, a student who lives in Japan and has a time zone of GMT+ 9 will see it on your profile as available starting from 8 pm till 11 pm. So it is very important to choose this correctly. Please note that daylight saving times are applied automatically when required, this might affect the time of the lesson for your/ your student or both of you, depending where you are and if this country uses the daylight saving times.
Second: managing your main schedule and the day to day schedule: To add the times you

are available: go to “Edit profile” and scroll down to see your schedule, choose the day you wish to add, then the hours you want to show as available, and click on the (+) button next to it, you should see it appearing on your schedule above. Add more hours for the same day or other days in the same way. To delete an available time, just click on the (-) button next to the available hours and it will disappear.
Page | 7

Third: the (day to day schedule) or (availability exceptions)

This schedule is set up to help you arrange your available hours in a more organized way. If you are going on vacation, or have an appointment that you can‟t miss , click here on availability exceptions, you will see this schedule, showing specific days and dates all around the year, choose the day and time you want to block, click on the grey box with “not available” and highlight them, then click on “save”. The color system shows you what you still have as available, and if it‟s for private or group lessons. The day to day exception can be a very effective and important tool if it is used correctly. You can also post a small note on your profile saying you`re going on vacation or use the Journal tool.

Myngle symbols visible to students:
The final point to understand on your profile is: Myngle symbols which are visible to students: 1st Teacher’s performance

After each lesson is finished, the student can leave feedback for the teacher. It can be done in two ways: first writing a comment and second: after the lesson is finished, the student can rate the teacher and the lesson using stars. It‟s a good idea to ask your student to do so, because the feedback is the teacher‟s permanent record on Myngle. Please keep in mind that once the feedback has been entered and sent, there is no way of changing it. If for any reason, the student forgets to leave feedback, you can ask him or her to do so by going to “my Myngle”, clicking on “previous lessons”, and a list with all lessons completed will appear. If any lesson is missing feedback, there will be a note next to it “leave feedback “. The teacher can follow the same steps to give feedback to the student later if it wasn‟t done directly after the lesson. http://www.myngle.com/forum/kb/id/117
Myngle score system: This is a very important part of your profile, since it shows the number

of lessons you have given on Myngle. This can be effected negatively, if you miss a lesson, likewise, canceling a lesson will have the same negative effect. If for any reason you can‟t make a class, reschedule for another date/time, and ask your student to accept the changes, or arrange another time and date which suits you both. http://www.myngle.com/forum/kb/id/119
2nd Certified teacher symbol: This symbol shows that a teacher has been

certified by Myngle, and he or she is trusted for their commitment, and teaching quality. All teachers who want to be certified need to follow the criteria required by Myngle which are:

 To have taught at least 40 lessons  To have a feedback of no less than 4 stars.
Page | 8

 Have a full course of 20 lessons with slides if the teacher is teaching 1 or 2 languages,
or if the teacher is offering 3 or 4 languages, then 2 full courses with slides are required. http://www.myngle.com/forum/kb/id/114
3rd Thumbs up teachers

The last part to know about on your profile is the “Thumbs up teachers “symbol. Becoming a Myngle “Thumbs up teacher” means that Myngle will offer your lesson packages with up to 20% discount in special promotions. In return, you will have this symbol next to your name (showing that you are part of it), and you will be promoted to Myngle`s partners ( such as KLM, Cervantes , etc… ). You will be recommended to Myngle`s students in Myngle marketing campaigns (discounts, personalized messages to students and etc.) And finally, you will get a higher priority on Myngle‟s teacher‟s waiting list. To become a “Thumbs up teacher”, click on “edit profile”, scroll down and you will find it under the packages prices, and above the teaching experience section, just check the box, and you`re in!

What do you offer?
Individual/ Private lessons
You can offer student 30 and 45 minutes lessons. Where you can find this: 1. Sign in 2.Go to "Edit profile" 3.Scroll down till you see the table of the price. There you will be asked to enter the price for a 30 min or 45 min lesson. Offering one or both? It is better to offer both in your profile since students preferences vary.
Pricing Individual lesson:

Some teachers are not sure of the price they should offer. Myngle has carried out a survey and have found that students are willing to pay providing they are receiving quality. Consequently, we don‟t recommend you to offer a very low price. The minimum price for 30 minutes lesson is 9 euro and for 45 minutes is 13 euro.

Packages
Now you need to fill in the Package Subscription section, which packages to offer. You can offer your students different packages such as:      10 Easy 30 Intensive 50 Pro 100 Stretch 1 Month daily

Let us go back to each package in more detail: http://www.myngle.com/forum/kb/id/124 10 Easy: an Advance purchase of 10 lessons expiring after 120 days from purchase date 30 Intensive: an Advance purchase of 30 lessons expiring after 210 days from purchase date 50 Pro: an Advance purchase of 50 lessons expiring after 365 days from purchase date 100 Stretch: an Advance purchase of 100 lessons expiring after 1.5 year from purchase date Month daily: We will come to this in detail in a few moments
Pricing your packages

Concerning the Prices of these packages, each can be set independently, and for each package type you can choose to offer lessons of 30 minutes, 45 minutes or both of these options. http://www.myngle.com/forum/kb/id/144 Myngle recommends you to offer more attractive lesson package prices, with larger savings per lesson compared to booking single lessons. When pricing your packages, we recommend you to apply the following discounts per lesson. However, you are free to choose as much discount as you want. 10-lesson package: 10% 30-lesson package: 15-20% 50-lesson package: 20-30% 100-lesson package: 30-40%

Page | 10

Validity of packages

Each package has an expiry date. If the student does not use all the lessons in a certain package, Myngle takes 50% and the teacher takes the same from the remaining value of the package.

One month subscription- Boost/ One month daily:
One month boost gives a chance for a student to study one lesson daily with a teacher of his choice. One month boost gives a chance for a student to study one lesson daily with a teacher of his choice. The duration of each class is 30 lessons

Subscription vs. the package
Now let us differentiate between the package and the one month boost Package Duration of each class Expiry dates It could be 30 min or 45 min Packages vary in their expiry 1. The students can make up any missed classes 2. The student can book more than one class a day Boost It is only 30 min It expires in 30 calendar days. 1. The student cannot make up any lessons missed 2. The student can book ONLY one lesson a day. The teacher is paid by the end of the boost, so for example if the student buys a boost on the 15th of October it would end by the 15th of November. The teacher is paid by the end of November.

Policy

Teacher payment

The teacher is paid by the end of each month

Other information about the subscription

    

The boost expires after one month starts from the payment day. The student can have only one class a day Classes cannot be made up if missed The duration of each class is only 30 minutes. In the case of the student not using all 30 lessons, the teacher is paid the full amount of the boost minus the 18 % Myngle commission.

To ascertain how many classes are remaining. Please Sign in>>Go to My Myngle. You will be able to see a table with the number of classes remaining. For example: See next page

Group lessons
What is a group lesson, how many people can participate

Many students prefer group classes as it provides a fun and more interactive way to learn a language. In a group class a student is given the possibility to interact with other people as well as learning from the attempts, mistakes and successes of fellow students. In addition, they are also more economical than private classes and still allow the student to "share" the teacher with a small number of students
How it works

Group classes on Myngle are 45 minutes in length and they are paid by EACH student. If only 1 student books your group lesson, this will be the price you will be paid by Myngle (less commission). If two students book and pay, you will be paid double the rate, etc. Up to 5 students can join your Group lesson.
Prices / discount

Try to think of group lessons as an opportunity to reach out to a totally new student segment rather than replicating your offline experience. It's a chance to reach out to students who haven't yet tried your teaching; or to students who are more price-sensitive and are open to learn in a group setting; or to students who would like to take more frequent lessons in a lecture-type style in addition to their individual lessons where more teacher-student interaction is required. So we do recommend that a high price is not offered.

Free trial (Free Meet Your Teacher)
It is possible to offer a free trial lesson or so called Free Meet Your Teacher. However, this is only possible one time per teacher. As the lesson is free, you won't get paid for it. It is not necessary to offer this trial; it's up to you, although we recommend enabling this option as it has been proved that students prefer to meet the teachers to discuss their needs and their preferences beforehand. To enable or disable this: 1. Sign in 2. Go to edit profile and Scroll down under the section prices you will have the option

NOTE: Please note that in order to enable the free trail option you have to offer 30 minute lessons.

Learn now (I’m available now)
“Learn Now" is a function that enables students to book lessons at any time they arrive on the Myngle site even if they are new users and never booked lessons before. Teacher can set their “available to teach now” function on their „My Myngle‟ page. When a teacher clicks on 'I'm available now" they commit to be available to teach immediately in Myngle at any time during the following 2 hours from the nearest quarter hour (GMT/UTC). After setting "I'm available" the teacher can turn this function off at any time by clicking on "I'm not available now" (in My Myngle or "Home" page) or wait until it automatically expires after the 2 hours have passed. How to do it? 1. Sign in 2. Click on "Available now" Please note that setting "I'm available to teach now" overrides your general availability and availability time/date exceptions you have made on your profile.
Page | 13

Teachers who are "available now" will have a special icon on their profile, the teachers listing pages and course listing pages and will appear on a "Learn Now" list on the homepage. "Available now" will also be included in the advance search options along with an explanation of what it means.

Students booking a lesson with these teachers will see the next available time slot the teacher has automatically prefilled on the booking page. Booking times will be to the nearest quarter hour that meets the following conditions: 1.There is a 5 minute time allowance for payment. Example 1: Student arrives on booking page from learn now at 11.05am so time pre-selected time for the lesson is 11.15am Example 2: Student arrives on booking page from learn now at 11.12am so time pre-selected time for the lesson is 11.30am since we must allow 5 minutes to complete the booking. 2.The teacher does not already have a lesson booked Example: Student arrives on booking page from learn now at 11.05am so the pre-selected time for the lesson should be 11.15am but the teacher has a class until 11.45am so 11.45am is the next possible time. Last but not least, once a student books a class during this "Available to teach now" period, the teacher will see a pop-up alert on his/her web browser notifying them of this booking as soon as it is confirmed (in addition to the usual email confirmation which can sometimes take longer). Please remember that when stating you are "Available now" you must be logged in to Myngle and ready to receive bookings immediately. Online FAQ: http://www.myngle.com/forum/kb/id/148
