Strength of materials (Mec 32) is a subject that talks about how a solid object reacts when it is

subjected to stress, strain and torsion. It deals about how the stress, strain and torsion is calculated or
computed using different ways in structural members such as beams, columns and shafts. Since it talks
about different ways or method of computation, it is good to have strong foundation on basic subjects
such as algebra, trigonometry, statics and dynamics.

Strength of material is a subject where you can applies all the basic knowledge you gain from
basic subjects. Therefore, it is better to review the basic subjects as it is needed to analyze better the
problem and to make correct solution to the problem. Basic is the start of everything. If you know that
there is a problem in basic knowledge, it is better cure immediately as it always in use in all of the
subjects, in board exams and even in work. If your basic knowledge is good, you can answer problem
even under the time pressure. As conclusion, I conclude that everything start in basic.
