WEEK 1: EMOJI WEEK


June 26
Animal: Horse
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will participate in a
fun relay race, but instead of running like in a usual relay race, campers will have to
gallop like a horse!
Materials:
 Cones
 Hula Hoops
June 27
Animal: Octopus
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will go outside to play
Octopus tag! One camper will be chosen to be the Octopus and the other campers stand at
the other end of the field. The goal of the game is for campers to make it across to the
other side of the field without getting caught by the Octopus. If the Octopus tags students,
they become part of the Octopus and help tag the campers.

June 28
Animal: Koala
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make newspaper
Koalas. Campers will cut out two ears, a face, and a neck to make their koala. After this,
campers will put on googly eyes and a nose. For younger groups, stencils will be
provided to help trace.

June 29
Animal: Penguin
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will play a penguin
relay race. Campers will have a large egg in between their ankles and just like penguins,
they waddle with their eggs in order to complete the relay race. The group will be split in
half and whichever group finishes first is the winner!
Materials:
 Cones
 Ostrich Eggs

WEEK 2: MONSTERS WEEK


July 2
Animal: Narwhal
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will participate in a
ring toss game. The cone will represent the Narwhal’s horn and the campers will be
divided into four teams and whichever team can get the most rings around the cone wins
the game!
Materials:
 Cones

July 3
Animal: Bat
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their own
bat hats! The campers will use black construction paper and cut out the bat’s wings and
face. After, campers will use white paper to make eyes and mouth. The counselors will
help to put the hat on the camper.
Materials:
 Black construction paper
 White paper
 Tape or staples (to construct hat)
July 5
Animal: Alligator
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will play a fun alligator
game. The students will sit as if they were playing dilly-dally duck. Once campers are in
the position, the teacher will start music and will randomly stop the music. When the
music is stopped, the camper whose hand was hit last is out. The game continues until
one person is left and they are the winner.

July 6
Animal: Pufferfish
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will make their
very own pufferfish out of pom poms. The campers will place a colorful cupcake liner on
construction paper and will decorate the cupcake liner with pom poms. After this, the
campers will place googly eyes on their pufferfish.

WEEK 3: ALOHA ADVENTURES


July 9
Animal: Dolphin
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their own
stained glass dolphin! The campers will use colorful tissue paper and stick them on the
contact paper outlined like a dolphin.
Materials:
 Tissue paper
 Contact Paper

Animal: Flamingo
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will play Pin the
feather on the Flamingo. The campers will get blindfolded and be spun around three
times, so they have no sense of direction as to where the flamingo is. The campers will
then try their best to pin the feather on the flamingo.

July 11
Animal: Seal
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will play a beach ball
relay race outside! The campers will be split into teams (teams depending on how many
campers) and will have to walk around an obstacle course while keeping the beach ball
up without letting it hit the ground. The obstacle course will be differentiated based on
age group.
Materials:
 Beach ball (4)

Animal: Gecko/Chameleon
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make pom pom
geckos! The campers will use green pom poms, a tiny spoon, and pipe cleaners to make
their very own geckos.

Animal: Humpback Whale
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their own
whale cup and ball game.

WEEK 4: ART OF ANIMATION

Animal: Lion (Lion King)
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their very
own lion mask!
Materials:
 Paper plates
 Markers

Animal: Elephant (Dumbo)
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will be making their
own elephants with a fun party nose!
Materials:
 Gray paper
 Party horns
July 18
Animal: Hippo (Madagascar)
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will play “Hungry,
Hungry Hippo.” This game is played by throwing a variety of objects such as gator skin
balls, noodle bits, etc into the middle of the field. There will be four hula-hoops evenly
spaced from the middle. The campers will participate in a relay race where one person
from each team goes up and grabs one item and runs it back. The game will end when all
objects in the middle are in the hula-hoops. At the end, the campers will count up how
many objects are in their hula-hoop and whoever had the most wins!

Animal: Dragonfly (A Bug’s Life)
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will make their
own colorful dragonflies!
Materials:
 Colorful spoons
 Pipe cleaners
 Googly eyes
 Projector Sheets

July 20
Animal: Pig (Moana)
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will play “Steal
The Pig.” This game is played by separating the campers into two teams and each team
member is given a number. Once the number is called, both campers from each team with
that number will run in the middle to get the pig.

WEEK 5: WESTERN WEEK


July 23
Animal: Rattlesnake
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will make their
own snakes out of pipe cleaners and colorful beads.

 Pipe cleaners

Animal: Jack Rabbit
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will get in a big
circle (inside or outside) and place Race the Rabbit game. To play this game, the campers
will begin by passing one ball in one direction (the rabbit) and once half way around the
circle, another ball will be added to the circle (the farmer) and will try to catch the rabbit
in the circle.

Animal: Bald Eagle
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their own
bald eagles with construction paper. They will trace their hands to make the wings of the
eagle. After this, they will clue their eagle on construction paper.

Animal: Grey Wolf
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will play the game
“What time is it Mr. Wolf” outside.

Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will be making their
own 3D rhinos out of construction paper!

WEEK 6: PIRATE WEEK


July 30
Animal: Parrot
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their very
own parrots stick puppets. The campers will create their own parrots by tracing their
hands on colorful paper and placing them on the paper parrot to represent the parrot’s
feathers. When finished, a wooden popsicle stick will be glued to the back in order for the
parrot to be a puppet.
Materials:
 Red paper

 Yellow paper

Animal: Squid
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will make their
own toilet paper roll squid! The campers will be able to decorate the squid as they would
like and add colorful yarn on the bottom.

 Toilet paper rolls (150)

August 1
Animal: Seahorse
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their very
own seahorses out of paper plates. The campers get the opportunity to be very creative
with this and use whatever vibrant colors they like!
Materials:
 Paper plates

August 2
Animal: Monkey
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will play a fun
version of monkey in the middle. The campers will all get in a big circle and one camper
will be the monkey and will be in the middle of the circle. The camper will close his/her
eyes and spin around 3 times. Once spinning around, the camper will open his/her eyes
and whomever they are facing, they will try to get them to laugh. If they do, the camper
who they got to laugh will then be in the middle.

Animal: Guppies
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will make their
very own guppies. However, the guppies will have a stripe design that will be made by
using painting tape. The papers will be covered with lines of tape and the campers will
color the fish and when finished, the campers will take the tape off and see the cool
design.

 Colorful construction paper

WEEK 7: SUPER SPIRIT WEEK
August 6
Animal: Starfish
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will play freeze
dance, but when the music stops they have to get into a star position before any of the
counselors see them move.

Animal: Jellyfish
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will make paper
bowl jellyfish with ribbon hanging from the bottom just like jellyfish stingers!

Animal: Crabs
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will play a crab
walk relay race. The campers will be split into teams and the teams will have to complete
a relay race by crab walking.

Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, campers will make their own
3D turtles.

Animal: Shark
Instructional Plan: After learning about some fun facts, the campers will go outside and
play the lifeguard and shark game.
