Brokenness that Brings Intimacy and Revival

Mark 11:17 New Living Translation (NLT)

He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house
17

of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”

Banal mong tahanan, it is actually a worship song, a cry, that your heart will be a
house of prayer. Sabi noong song, “loobin mo ang buhay koy maging banal mong
tahanan”.

15 When they arrived back in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple and began to
drive out the people buying and selling animals for sacrifices. He knocked over the
tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves, 16 and he stopped
everyone from using the Temple as a marketplace. 17 He said to them, “The
Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but
you have turned it into a den of thieves.”

Ito iyong grievance ni Lord, this is supposed to be a house of prayer pero anong
ginawa niyo, ginawa niyong lungga ng magnanakaw. Ito yung first time na nagalit I
Jesus ng ganito katindi. He was so angry for what the temple has become. When
Jesus came, he exploded. Kung iimagine mo, nagwala siya. I want you to understand
that, he is angry not because he was surprised, to give you the context hindi naman

What is that Temple?

Lets go back to 2 chronicles, when the temple was built by Solomon. It was built by
all splendor and glory, in fact, the Temple of Solomon, was one of the 7 wonders of
the Ancient world.

Queen Sheba visited it. Hindi makahinga sa ganda. Marangya, pero ano ang pinaka
amazing dito, yung presence of God,

When the temple was dedicated by Solomon, ang sabi doon, the priest could not even
move because the presence of God is so thick. Sa tindi ng presensya ng DIyos na
naroon.People maybe on their kness, adoring God, such a wonderful place of
connection with God, at nanatiling ganun, sa mahabang panahon. Until… something
happened, kung iisipin nga noh, how did that temple that treated so holy, bakit
umabot sa ganito? Anong nangyare?

Religos pa rin sila, sige simba, sige simmba, but through sometime, their hearts
became hardened. They canot recognize anymore, between holy and unholy. Yung
pagpumasok sila noon sa temple noon, they can right away feel the intimacy with
God, yung closeness kay God. Yun kasi yung place where people can meet with God.
They come and go to feel the presence of God.

Pero ditto yung pinakita NA YUNG TEMPLE na kinalakihan ni Jesus is already very
far from what it was before. The glorious temple that was dedicated centuries ago,
now becomes arubbish, anong nangyari. Anong sabi? Makikita daw, nagtitinda ng
animals. Parang kung ano yung pagpapray nila ganun pa din nman, but the heart
wasn’t there anymore. It was just an empty shell of its former glory.

As to Jesus, we need to understand that Jesus might be seeing the bad situation of
th temple everyday. 12 years old siya nang dinala siya doon. He was grieving.ala ni
At sobra siyang nagdadalmhati, Jeus
was grieving. Oneday, he can no longer take it anymore, hindi na niya kinaya.
Pakiramdam niya sobra na… hindi niya napigilan ang sarili niya, he overturned the
tables of the merhacnts. He was so broken… sobrang nagdurugo ang puso niya,
imagine kung paano niya pinagtataaob ang lamesa. (nakakita na kayo ng ganun?)

Lumayas kayo!!!! Labas!!!! Nanguha pa ng pamalo, and Jesus started whipping the
people.driving the animals out…
ng perang nagkalat, nagtatakbuhan, and here was Jesus, slumped, nakadapa,
umiiyak… humahagulgol habang nakadapa. At yung mga discples siguro andun di
alam ang gagawin.

, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it
into a den of thieves. Now anong kinalaman nito sayo at sa akin?

2 Corinthians 6:19
19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you
and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

What is the state of that temple?
Is it still ahouse of prayer? Is it still a place of intimacy? Is your life is aplace where
there is a constant communion with God? Or nagging den na rin ng magnanakaw?

Ang problema nung time ni jesus, yung mga tao they don’t have any ideaow far they
have fallen. Natatandaan nyo ba kanina, that we have to look back how the temple
looks like before?to see it during king solomons time. Sometimes you need to go
back to the place when that very life of yours became his temple. Rfember the first
few days when you gave your life to the Lord? Naalala mob a nung na kang lumapit
ditto sa harap? How broke and intimate that moment was? Remember the holiness.
Remember the passion. You are so careful not to sin. You are so watchful of your
ways. You ready your bible everyday, remember your intimate connection with God.
Kahit hindi required, nagging buhay mo ang quiet time. You share the word, you
share it with your friends.
natin. Nagcocompromise ka. Nagsisinungaling ka na. naglilihim ka na. excuses.
Negative spirit. Pride. Ayaw mon ang making. Ang tigas nan ang puso mo. The
heart became a den of thieves. Sbrang tigas na ng puso. Kaya pala sabi sa

Proverbs 4:23

Proverbs 4:23 New Living Translation (NLT)

23 Guard your heart above all else,

for it determines the course of your life.

How will you know that your heart now becomes a den of thieves?how would you
know that your heart is hard? Its not broken anymore.

1. CALLOUSNESS – sa tagalog, kinalyo na. that you can no longer distinguish

right from what is wrong. Yung konsensya mo nging manhid na. di mon a
alam anong ang tama at mali.

Ezekiel 22:26

26 Your priests have violated my instructions and defiled my holy things.

They make no distinction between what is holy and what is not. And they do not
teach my people the difference between what is ceremonially clean and unclean.
They disregard my Sabbath days so that I am dishonored among them.

ritual, mga seremonyas etc, they did not stop of becoming a priest.

2. WHEN YOU LOST YOUR PASSION

You simply don’t care.

Haggai 1:7
In a way, something that is so obvious, they cannot see. That’s why God is calling
their attention. Hoy!!! Tignan niyo ang buhay niyo? Look at your ways. Hindi mon a
ba nakikita ang pinagagagawa mo?

7 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s

happening to you! 8 Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and
rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the
Lord. 9 You hoped for rich harvests, but they were poor. And when you
brought your harvest home, I blew it away. Why? Because my house lies in
ruins, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, while all of you are busy building
your own fine houses.

You know what happened? They have lost theIR passion for God’s House. They
were making these excuses, para hindi maitayo ang templo ng DIyos. Samantalang
dati, they are all excited to build the Lord’s house. Sa atin ngaon, building the
Lord’s house is not necessarily the structure or the building, as you know we are
building the body, and how do you build the body of Christ? How do you build the
church? It talks about winning people, following them up, being accountable to
them. Ang problema, they stopped building the church. Sabi ditto ng Lord, each one
is busy building their own lives. God, the church, God’s heart is no longer their
passion. And the thing is, they are not even aware. Yun na nga eh, when your heart
is hard, when you are deceieved, ni indi mon a nga Makita yung mali, hidi mon a
Makita yung kasalanan, hindi mon a makta whats wrong. That’s why the lord is
saying, Hey LOOOOK!!!!what is happening to you!!!!anong nangyayari sayo!!! Kung
titignan mo lang ng Mabuti. Can you not see??? God is in way punishing them. But
God is letting them realize how far!!!You are doing so much!!!! Oo, naayos mo ang
buhay mo!!! Pero paano ang bahay ko? Paano ang church ko??? You do so little to
me!!! Kaya ito I will blow you away!!!

And then God sai, bakit kita giniba? Because my house lies in ruins. Wasak
yung bahay ko….becasue you are not prioritizing my church.
So anong gagagwin natin? How do we cleanse the temple? How do you soften a
hardened heart? How do you break ones heart? Kailangan ba talagang maging
broken? Kailangan ba talaga ng brokenness?

What happens when our heart is broken? What happens when the temple is
cleansed? TWO THINGS… LET US READ
