Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was born Vincent Willem Van Gogh on March 30, 1853, in Groot-

Zundert, Netherlands. He was a Dutchman post-impressionist painter whose work, notable for its

beauty, emotion and color. When Vincent Van Gogh was at the age of 15, Van Gogh’s family

was struggling financially, and he was forced to leave school and go to work. He went on many

places and failed at multiple jobs before becoming an artist. Van Gogh decided in 1880 to focus

on art. In 1881, the Dutchman, who was primarily a self-taught artist, returned home to the

Netherlands, where he devoted himself to drawing and painting he become depressed. His

younger brother Theo, an art dealer helped support him financially and emotionally. In 1886,

Van Gogh went live with Theo in Paris. He made lots of paintings but no one wanted to buy his

works. In 1889, Vincent Van Gogh experienced episodes of poor mental health. He often

neglected his physical health, did not eat properly and drank heavily. His friendship with

Gauguin ended after a confrontation with a razor, when in a rage, he severed part of his own ear.

He spend time in psychiatric hospitals, including a period at Saint-Remy. After discharged his

depression continued and on 27th of July 1890, Van Gogh shot himself in the chest with revolver.

He died from his injuries two days later.

Vincent Van Gogh inspirational story makes me realize things in life. His experience in

life is awful, he quit school at a young age, made paintings but no one is interested to buy and

suffer from a mental illness and depression which attempts him to cut his own ear and for the

second time ended his own life. It makes me realize that you should continue your dreams in life
even if it seems the world is against on you, life must go on, who knows what happen next. Look

what happen to Vincent Van Gogh, he inspired lots of people of his life experiences and became

a famous artist after he died. In life we should have to be patient, everything happens for a

reason. Look at the things in different way to make you feel better, find good in bad, have faith

and trust our lord above. God always have a plan for everything, so be strong.
