1.       This type of carburetor depends on the diaphragm to keep the slide aligned in the proper position.  On the outside of the diaphragm there is a locating nub that fits into a
locator in the carburetor groove.  Mark the location of this nub on the slide with a permanent marker before beginning removal.

2.       Lubricate the retaining groove of the old diaphragm with a Zippo type lighter fluid.  This will assist with removal by making the old diaphragm more slippery in the groove.

3.       Insert a small to medium size flat blade screwdriver between the old diaphragm and the lower plastic diaphragm retainer.

4.       Pull on the old diaphragm until it begins to come out of the retaining groove.

5.       Slowly work around the slide pulling on the diaphragm until it is removed.

1. Stretch the inner hole of the new diaphragm around the retaining groove as shown making sure that the lip is pointing toward the bottom of the slide and the nub is
aligned with the mark you made on the slide during removal.

2. Lubricate the both sides of the diaphragm with a Zippo type lighter fluid where it contacts the groove.

 NOTE:  I used a fine file and sandpaper to dull all sharp corners of the screwdriver before beginning step 3.

3.       Using small screwdriver, begin to push the diaphragm into the groove from the bottom / lip side of the diaphragm.  Take your time, go slow and go around the diaphragm
several times to ensure that you have the diaphragm tucked completely in the groove. You may want to lubricate the diaphragm with more lighter fluid several times while
doing this part of the installation.
3. El uso de destornillador, comenzar a empujar el diafragma en la ranura de la parte inferior / labio lado del diafragma. Tómese su tiempo, vaya lento y la vuelta al diafragma

Installation tip for installing slide in the carburetor

1.       Position the diaphragm as shown.

2.       Make sure that the nub is properly aligned with the carburetor body and partially insert the slide into the carburetor body.

3.       Place your finger inside the carburetor from the air cleaner side and push the slide down until the outer lip of the diaphragm just fits into the groove of the carburetor.  Hold
the slide in this position with the finger that inside the carburetor.

3. Coloque el dedo en el interior del carburador desde el aire más limpio lado y empuje la cubierta hasta que el labio exterior de la membrana sólo encaja en la ranura del
carburador. Mantenga la diapositiva en esta posición con el dedo que en el interior del carburador.
5.       Continue holding the slide with the finger that is inside the carburetor and carefully install the spring and the top to the diaphragm.
5. Continuar la celebración de la diapositiva con el dedo que está dentro del carburador y cuidadosamente instalar la primavera y el principio de la membrana.
 

6.       Install the retaining screws and release the slide.

6. Instale el tornillo de retención y liberación de la diapositiva.
