“Today we will be looking at one way in which Jesus gave thanks to God for
God’s power. Jesus taught that God used his immense power to care for all
whom he created”
Open bible to Matthew 6:25 and read the passage up to 6:30, as below.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink;
or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body
more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or
store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not
much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single
hour to your life[e]?”

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow.
They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his
splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass
of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not
much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

Distribute brown card to all students and allow time for a short passage to be Dried beans

Have students draw a line on the card to represent an ant tunnel. Distribute dry Chopsticks
beans to all students and have them glue the beans end to end along the line
(those wanting a challenge may use chopsticks to move their beans).
Once complete, the students can add legs to their “ants” using a black marker.
Question students about how best to count the total ant legs on the page.
Once glue is dry, the work can be displayed in the class room.
Students to return unused beans to front of class room, and other materials to
their appropriate place before returning to mat.

10 Lesson Closure:(Review lesson objectives with students)

Discuss the size of ants, and how many millions there might be on earth. “God
cares for all these ants, as well as every other creature, including us. What Whiteboard
immense power he has. How do you think Jesus would thank God for His
power and protection?”
Write a short prayer of thanks as a class. Recite and add to class prayer list.
