Time Motivation and Introduction:
Align these with the segment
1:25pm
1. Students are seated at their desks with their iPads where they will be introduced.

2. Inform the students that they each need to write down at least
one way that people struggle to show strength at school or in the Google Doc
community (focus on interactions with others)
iPads
- Write the link up on the white board to a google doc that the
students can edit
- Students contribute ideas onto the document
- There is an example suggestion on the page “people sometimes
don’t show strength when they don’t play fairly at recess or
lunch” or/and “people don’t show strength when they say unkind
things to their classmates”
1:30pm 3. Call the students to come back to the mat and leave their iPad
on their desk

4. Facilitate a discussion based on the responses that the students

gave on the doc Classroom TV
- Display the document on the TV

5. Ask questions like, how could this person act differently so they
do use strength or what fruit of the spirit might be helpful to this
person, so they can make a better decision etc.

Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions):

1:35pm 1. Instruct the students that they will need to get into pairs iPads
- Students should have 1 iPad between them

2. Explain to the students that they will need to create an iMovie iMovie
consisting of two clips showing the same scenario but one with
and one without a person using the strength of the holy spirit Puppet Pals
- Students can use a creative app such as puppet pals or they can
just film them selves
- Students need to combine both clips together using iMovie and
upload the final product to their folder in One Note One Note

3. During the activity monitor students and make sure they are
staying on task

Lesson Closure:(Review lesson objectives with students)

1:50pm Classroom TV
1. Choose 1 or two groups to share their movie on the TV
- Select groups that have different scenarios and used
different creative apps to create their movie

2. Discuss with students the distinct differences between the

situations and how the outcome was different when people used
strength to make better choices

1:55pm 3. Students are already seated on the mat and ready for
instructions

Transition: (What needs to happen prior to the next lesson?)

1. Students should be UpToDate with their work but if any students

are behind they will need to finish the work they missed
Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will they be
assessed?)

 An informal discussion can be used to identify how well the

Students recognise the benefit of using strength to make better
choices based on participation and depth of the discussion
during the lesson closure
 Informally reviewing the google doc post lesson is a good
formative way of checking students understanding and level of
engagement. The sophistication of the list compared to the
scenarios in the clips will indicate this.
 Lastly formally reviewing the clips posted to one note by
checking of for effort and the degree of contrast between the Resources Page
scenarios
