GENERAL NOTES:
Provide all materials and perform all work according to the
2002 Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction.
PLAN Bridge strengthening repairs are designed for HS20 and
Scale 1" = 20'-0" ODOT Permit 4 live load with 2" future ACWS by AASHTO
LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
Provide all reinforcing steel according to ASTM A706M. Do
not splice reinforcing steel unless otherwise shown.
Place bars 2 inches clear of the nearest face of concrete

Perform the injection under one lane at a time. During crack injection and set time, close the

lane directly above and adjacent lane (s) to the work area. Follow manufacturer's specifications
for temperature and related minimum set time.
Inject epoxy resin according to manufacturer's recommendations. Begin at the lowest injection
port until the epoxy reaches the next port above. Cap the lower port and repeat, moving upward
to the next port until crack is filled full height and all ports capped.
After epoxy has cured, remove the surface seal.
To check the success of the epoxy injection, take two 2" diameter by 4" deep test cores at random CRACK INJECTION PAY LENGTH
location of the injected crack for visual inspection. Use a rebar locator to avoid coring thru rebar. No Scale
Fill the core hole with PCC patching material from the QPL.
