Describe each step of the lesson

I will start the lesson by asking the student if they know what the main idea it is?
Then I will explain to the student what it is and will read a short story and together
as a class will find the main idea.
Then I will put the students in groups of for and I will give each group a short story
their job is to read as a group the story and found out the main idea. When they are
finished, they will share them to the classroom what was the story about and what is
the main idea. Then each student is going to read and other story but this time
independently and find the main idea.

 At the end of the class, I will give students a ticket out of the door, and I will read a
story and ask the student to write what they think is the main idea. This would help
me know if the students understood and learned to identify the main idea.
