HOW TO CITE A WEBPAGE IN

MLA FORMAT

Whenever you use books, articles, or websites in research, you


must indicate that you used the information.

There are several systems for doing this. The one used for English
assignments is the Modern Language Association (MLA) format.
STEP 1

Type Works Cited at the top of the page.

Center this on the page.


YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING
FOR EACH SITE YOU USED:
1. Name of the page from website (ex. “How could he do this ti
us?”)

2. Organization that sponsors website. Look under ABOUT if


your website has that tab. (ex. Making Students Work a Lot
Association)

3. Date you accessed (looked at) the site in Day Month Year
format (ex. 4 July 1776)

4. Site address (ex. www.doIhavetodothisreally?.com)


NOW FILL IN THE INFORMATION. MAKE SURE
TO INCLUDE THE COMMAS AND THE PERIODS.

“Name of page from website.” Organization that sponsors website

, date you accessed the site in Day MonthYear format,

address of website.
