•  Why  did  Allah  create  us?

Islam
is  to  Submit  to  Allah  with  tawheed,  surrendering  our  full  obedience  to  Him  
and  leaving  of  Shirk  and  innovation  and  their  people  
•  Islam  has  Five  Pillars  and  they  are:  
•  1st  Pillar  has  2  Parts  to  it  and  they  are:    
•   Laa  ilaha  illa  Allah  
•  Means:  There  is  no  true  god  that  has  the  right  to  be  worshipped  
except  Allah  
•  It  has  2  Pillars  
•  1st:  Negation:  negating  the  worship  for  everything  beside  Allah  
•  2nd:  AfQirmation:  AfQirming  the  worship  for  Allah  alone  
•  It  has  8  Conditions  
•  1st:  Knowledge  
•  2nd:  Certainty  
•  3rd:  Sincerity  
•  4th:  Honesty  
•  5th:  Love  
•  6th:  Complience  
•  7th:  Acceptance  
•  8th:  Disbelief  in  everything  that  is  worshipped  beside  Allah  
•   wa  Muhammad  Rasul  Allah  (Muhammad  is  the  Messenger  of  Allah)  
•  Means:  To  believe  in  everything  he  informed,  to  obey  him  in  
everything  he  ordered,  to  leave  of  everything  he  told  us  to  be  away  
from,  and  to  worship  Allah  only  in  the  way  he  told  us  to  worship  
Allah  
•  It  has  2  pillars  
•  1st:  To  believe  in  and  to  accept  his  Message  
•  2nd:  To  believe  that  he  is  a  slave  of  Allah  and  his  worshiper  
•  2nd:  As-­‐Salah  (The  obligatory  prayer)  
•  3rd:  Az-­‐Zakah  (The  obligatory  charity)  
•  4th:  Hajjul  Bayt  (The  pilgrimage  to  the  house  of  Allah)  
•  5th:  Sawmu  Ramadan  (The  fasting  of  Ramadan)

Emaan (faith)

•  Means:  it  is  the  belief  of  the  heart,  statements  of  the  
tongue  and  the  actions  of  the  limbs  and  it  increases  
with  obedience  to  Allah  and  decreases  with  
disobedience  to  Allah.  
•  It  has  Six  Pillars  
•  1st:  Belief  in  Allah  
•  2nd:  His  Angels  
•  3rd:  His  Books  
•  4th:  His  Messengers    
•  5th:  The  Last  Day  
•  6th:  The  pre-­‐decree  and  its  good  and  its  bad  

 
 

Ihsan

•  It  has  one  pillar  


•  Is  to  worship  Allah  as  if  we  see  Him,  if  we  do  not  
see,  then  Indeed  Allah  sees  us  
•  It  has  two  levels  
•  1st:  To  worship  Allah  as  if  we  see  him  
•  2nd:  if  we  do  not  see  Him,  then  He  indeed  sees  us

As-Salah (The Prayer)

•  There  are  Hive  prayers  that  we  have  to  do  every  day  and  night  and  
each  of  these  salah  has  speciQic  number  of  Rakah  (unit)    {a  rakah  
consist  of  standing  in  reciting  surah  fatiha  and  another  surah  and  
rukuh  that  is  bowing  and  two  sajdah  that  is  making  two  prostration}  
•  1st:  Fajr  Prayer:  it  has  2  obligatory  rakah  and  also  2  sunnah  rakah  
before  the  obligatory  rakah  
•  2nd:  Zuhr  Prayer:  it  has  4  obligatory  rakah  and  also  4  sunnah  
rakah  before  the  4  obligatory  rakah  and  then  2  after  it  
•  3rd:  Asr  Prayer:  it  has  4  obligatory  rakah  and  also  4  sunnah  rakah  
before  it  
•  4th:  Magrib  Prayer:  it  has  3  obligatory  rakah  and  also  2  rakah  of  
sunnah  before  it  and  2  rakah  of  sunnah  after  it  
•  5th:  Isha  Prayer:  it  has  4  obligatory  rakah  and  2  rakah  of  Sunnah  
before  it  and  2  rakah  of  sunnah  after  it  and  there  is  also  witr  salah  
that  is  sunnah,  which  is  doing  odd  number  of  rakah  salah  before  
Fajr  prayer  from  between  1  to  11  rakah  [i.e.  1,  3,  5,  7,  9  or  11]  
 

Important Terms and their Meanings

• Qur'an:  It  is  the  Book  of  Allah,  it  has  the  speech  of  Allah  and  therefore  this  
Qur'an  is  not  created  
• Hadith:  It  is  the  sayings  and  actions  and  silent  approval  of  the  Prophet  
sallallahu  alayhe  wasallam  
• Tawheed:  It  is  to  single  out  Allah  with  all  forms  of  worship  
• Shirk:  It  is  to  direct  any  forms  of  worship  to  other  than  Allah  
• Worship:  It  is  every  sayings  and  actions  that  Allah  loves  and  is  pleased  with  
• Innovation:  It  is  to  come  up  with  new  forms  of  worship  that  Allah  and  His  
Messenger  (Prophet  Muhammad)  did  not  tell  us  to  do      
• Islam:  It  is  to  submit  to  Allah  with  tawheed,  surrendering  our  full  obedience  to  
Him  and  leaving  of  shirk  and  innovation  and  their  people  
• Emaan:  It  is  the  belief  of  the  heart,  statements  of  the  tongue  and  actions  of  the

Important  Questions  and  Answers  about  the  Salah  and  Wudhu  

•  What  should  you  say  before  you  make  wudhu?  


•  We  have  to  say  Bismillah  
•  How  do  you  make  intention  for  your  salah  and  the  wudhu?  
•  we  make  our  intention  for  salah  and  the  wudhu  and  all  other  actions  in  our  heart  and  we  
do  not  say  our  intention  on  our  tongue  with  words  
•  If  you  forgot  to  say  "Bismillah"  at  the  beginning  of  the  wudhu,  what  should  you  do?  
•  Then,  we  should  say  "bismillah"  when  we  remember  
•  What  are  the  four  obligatory  parts  in  wudhu  that  we  must  wash/wipe  in  the  order  
Allah  said  and  if  we  do  not,  our  wudhu  is  then  cancelled?  
•  They  are:  washing  of  the  face  including  the  mouth  and  the  nose,  washing  of  the  hands  
including  the  elbows,  wiping  of  the  head  including  the  ears  and  washing  of  the  feet  
including  the  anckles  
•  If  we  miss  a  pillar  of  the  salah,  then  what  happens  to  our  salah?  
•  Then  our  salah  is  cancelled  and  we  have  to  redo  the  salah  
•  If  we  miss  an  obligatory  part  of  salah,  what  do  we  have  to  do?  
•  We  have  to  make  2  sajdah  at  the  end  of  our  salah  after  the  taslim  saying,  "assalamualikum  
warahma  tullahiwabaraka  tuhu"  to  the  right  and  left  
•  How  many  times  can  you  wash  each  body  parts  in  the  wudhu?  
•  You  can  wash  each  body  parts  beside  the  head,  one  time,  2  times,  and  upto  3  times  and  not  
more  than  that    
 
 
[001.001] In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

[001.002] All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord (Ar-Rabb) of the 'Alamîn
(mankind, jinns and all that exists).

[001.003] The Most Beneficent (Ar-Rahman), the Most Merciful (Ar-Raheem).

[001.004] The Only Owner (Al-Malik) (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of
Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)

[001.005] You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and
everything).

[001.006] Guide us to the Straight Way

[001.007] The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way)
of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray
(such as the Christians).

[002.255] Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-
Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that
exists). Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in
the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him
except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this
world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never encompass
anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursî extends over the
heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.
And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursî)  
[101:001] Al-Qâri'ah (the striking Hour, i.e. the Day of Resurrection).

[101:002] What is the striking (Hour)?

[101:003] And what will make you know what the striking (Hour) is?

[101:004] It is a Day whereon mankind will be like moths scattered about.

[101:005] And the mountains will be like carded wool.

[101:006] Then as for him whose Balance (of good deeds) will be heavy,

[101:007] He will live a pleasant life (in Paradise).

[101:008] But as for him whose Balance (of good deeds) will be light,

[101:009] He will have his home in Hâwiyah (pit, i.e. Hell).

[101:010] And what will make you know what it is?

[101:011] (It is) a fiercely blazing Fire!


[105:001] Have you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) not seen how your
Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant? [The Elephant Army which came from
Yemen under the command of Abrahah Al-Ashram intending to destroy the Ka'bah at
Makkah].

[105:002] Did He not make their plot go astray?

[105:003] And He sent against them birds, in flocks,

[105:004] Striking them with stones of Sijjîl (baked clay).

[105:005] And He made them like (an empty field of) stalks (of which the corn) has
been eaten up (by cattle).
[078:001] What are they asking one another about?

[078:002] About the great news (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism, the Qur'ân which Prophet
Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] brought and the Day of Resurrection),

[078:003] About which they are in disagreement.

[078:004] Nay, they will come to know!

[078:005] Nay, again, they will come to know!

[078:006] Have We not made the earth as a bed,

[078:007] And the mountains as pegs?

[078:008] And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good
and bad).

[078:009] And We have made your sleep as a thing for rest.

[078:010] And We have made the night as a covering (through its darkness),

[078:011] And We have made the day for livelihood.

[078:012] And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),

[078:013] And We have made (therein) a shining lamp (sun).

[078:014] And We have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water.

[078:015] That We may produce therewith corn and vegetation,

[078:016] And gardens of thick growth.

[078:017] Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time,

[078:018] The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in
crowds (groups after groups). (Tafsir At-Tabari)

[078:019] And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates,

[078:020] And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be
as if they were a mirage.

[078:021] Truly, Hell is a place of ambush –

[078:022] A dwelling place for the Tâghûn (those who transgress the boundary limits
set by Allâh, like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, hypocrites, sinners,
criminals),

[078:023] They will abide therein for ages.

[078:024] Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink.

[078:025] Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges –

[078:026] An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes).

[078:027] For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning.

[078:028] But they denied Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs,
revelations, and that which Our Prophet brought) completely.

[078:029] And all things We have recorded in a Book.

[078:030] So taste you (the results of your evil actions). No increase shall We give
you, except in torment.

[078:031] Verily, for the Muttaqûn, there will be a success (Paradise);

[078:032] Gardens and vineyards,

[078:033] And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age,

[078:034] And a full cup (of wine).

[078:035] No Laghw (dirty, false, evil talk) shall they hear therein, nor lying;

[078:036] A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of
their good deeds),

[078:037] (From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatsoever is in
between them, – the Most Gracious, with Whom they cannot dare to speak (on the
Day of Resurrection except by His Leave).

[078:038] The Day that Ar-Rûh [Jibrâîl (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will
stand forth in rows, they will not speak except him whom the Most Gracious (Allâh)
allows, and he will speak what is right.

[078:039] That is (without doubt) the True Day. So, whosoever wills, let him seek a
place with (or a way to) his Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)!

[078:040] Verily, We have warned you of near torment, – the Day when man will see
that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "I wish
I would have been dust!"
