SOLE:
Work in rounds with colour A.
round 1:
ch 10, hdc in 2nd ch from hook,
7 hdc, 6 hdc in last ch, continue on opposite side:
7 hdc, 5 hdc in last st, join with sl st in 1st hdc
=> 26 sts

round 2:
AppleBee Patterns ch 1, 2 hdc in one st, 8 hdc, 2 hdc in each of next
5 sts, 8 hdc, 2 hdc in each of next 4 sts, join with
sl st in 1st hdc => 36 sts

round 3:
size(s): ch 1, 1 hdc, 2 hdc in one st, 9 hdc,
(2 hdc in 1 st, 1 hdc) 5x, 7 hdc,
0-6 months: (1 hdc, 2 hdc in one st) 4x, join with sl st in
sole length ~10 cm / 3.9 inches 1st hdc => 46 sts

6-12 months – changes in [ ]: Fasten off.

sole length ~11 cm / 4.3 inches

materials you need:

· worsted weight yarn

(100% organic cotton, 90m/50g):

- 35g [45g] colour A (dark brown)

- 20g [30g] colour B (sand)

· crochet hook 3.5 mm [4.5 mm ]

· needle

abbreviations:
UPPER TOE:
· st(s) = stitch(es)
· ch = chain stich(es) Use colour B now. Work in rows
· sl st(s) = slip stitch(es)
· sc = single crochet row 1:
· hdc = half double crochet ch 21, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 19 hdc => 20 sts

gauge: row 2:
ch 1, turn, 20 hdc => 20 sts
20 hdc x 12 rows = 10x10 cm
[16 hdc x 10 rows = 10x10 cm] row 3:
5 hdc x 3 rows = 1x1 INCHES ch 1, turn, 6 hdc,
[4 hdc x 2,5 rows = 1x1 INCHES] (2 hdc together – see pictures) 4x, 6 hdc
=> 16 sts

row 4:
ch 1, turn, 5 hdc, (2 hdc together) 3x, 5 hdc
=> 13 sts

hdc together:
Begin 1st hdc but don't
finish. Leave 3 loops
on hook (1).
Begin 2nd hdc
=> 5 loops on hook (2).
Pull yarn through all 5 Fasten off.
3 loops on hook (3). Turn inside out.

row 5:
ch 1, turn, 4 hdc, 2 hdc together, 1 hdc, 2 hdc
together, 4 hdc => 11 sts

ch 1, turn, close with sl sts through each TONGUE:

2 opposite sts along the edge (see pictures)
Start at the point shown in the picture.

Work in rows.

row 1:
ch 1, 8 hdc along the edge => 8 sts

rows 2-4:
ch 1, turn, 8 hdc => 8 sts

row 5:
ch 1, turn, 2 hdc together, 4 hdc, 2 hdc together
=> 6 sts

Fasten off.

UPPER HEEL :

Work in rounds with colour A.

round 1:
ch 22, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 19 hdc, 6 hdc in
last ch, continue on opposite side: 19 hdc,
5 hdc in last st, join with sl st in 1st hdc
=> 50 sts

round 2:
ch 1, 2 hdc in 1 st, 20 hdc, 2 hdc in each of next
5 sts, 20 hdc, 2 hdc in each of next 4 sts, join with
Continue at the point shown in the picture.
sl st in 1st hdc => 60 sts

round 3:
ch 1, 1 hdc, 2 hdc in 1 st, 21 hdc,
(2 hdc in 1 st, 1 hdc) 5x, 19 hdc,
(1 hdc, 2 hdc in 1 st) 4x, join with sl st in 1st hdc
=> 70 sts Fasten off.

ch 1, work sc along the edge of the tongue

=> ~ 27 sts Fasten off.

ATTACH PIECES TOGETHER: Attach heel here and continue working sc along
the edge (26 sc) to fix it.

This picture shows the 26 sts through which heel

is attached to sole:

join with sl st in 1st sc => 46 sts

Work in the round. Fasten off.
Put together sole and upper toe at the point shown
in the picture (wrong sides together).
Work 20 sc with colour B along the edge
(frontmost 20 sts) through both pieces.

BOOTLACE: Use needle to thread the bootlace.
Voilà:
Make 4 little buttons with yarn colour B for each
bootie.

Work in loop (magic ring): ch 1, 6 sc

Tighten ring (not too tight), join with sl st in

1st sc. Fasten off.

Second bootie is made the same way.

Sew buttons on both sides of the bootie as shown

in the picture:
