A couple months ago, my daughter asked me to make her a bunny that would fit in the palm of her hands (check
out the free Mini Bunny pattern). It wasn’t long before she started telling me she wanted a REALLY big bunny
that she could hug. So here she is, Mrs. Huggy Bunny! She works up quick since she calls for Bernat Baby
Blanket yarn. She did use a little more yarn than I had expected or wanted to use, but she was worth it! She
measures 15 inches from the bottom of her feet to the top of her head. If I make another one, I will most likely add
1 or 2 more rows with the arms… but other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing. My daughter loves her!

Supplies
3 balls of Bernat Baby Blanket yarn. (86 yards each – size 6 Super Bulky)
Small amount of medium/worsted weight yarn for the nose and mouth.
K- 6.5 MM crochet hook
Yarn needle
Safety Eyes

Stitches
Magic Circle
CH- Chain
SC- Single Crochet
HDC- Half Double Crochet
HDC-2-TOG – Half Double Crochet Two Together
DC- Double Crochet

Body, Neck and Head

Round 1: Magic Circle. CH 1, 10 HDC into magic circle. Pull ring tight. Join to first HDC. (10)
Round 2: CH 1, 2 HDC into same stitch and each stitch around. Join to first HDC. (20)
Round 3: CH 1, 2 HDC into same stitch. HDC into next stitch. *2 HDC into the next stitch. HDC into the next stitch.
Repeat from * 8 more times. Join to first HDC. (30)
Round 4-6: CH 1, HDC into same stitch and each stitch around. Join to first HDC. (30)
Round 7: CH 1, HDC into the same stitch. HDC into the next 2 stitches. HDC-2-TOG. *HDC into the next 3
stitches. HDC-2-TOG. Repeat from * 4 more times. Join to first HDC. (24)
Round 8-9: CH 1, HDC into the same stitch and each stitch around. Join to first HDC. (24)
Round 10: CH 1, HDC into the same stitch and next 3 stitches. HDC-2-TOG. *HDC into the next 4 stitches. HDC-
2-TOG. Repeat from * 2 more times. (20)
Round 11-12: CH 1, HDC into the same stitch and each stitch around. Join to first HDC. (20)
Stuff the bunny body.
Round 13: CH 1, HDC-2-TOG all the way around. Join to the first stitch.(10)
Round 14: CH 1, HDC into same stitch and each stitch around. Join to the first HDC.(10)
Round 15: CH 1, 2 HDC into same stitch and 2 HDC into each of the next 9 stitches. Join to first HDC (20)
Round 16: CH 1, 2 HDC into same stitch. HDC into next stitch. *2 HDC into the next stitch. HDC into the next
stitch. Repeat from * 8 more times. Join to first HDC. (30)
Round 17-19: CH 1, HDC into same stitch and each stitch around. Join to the first HDC.(30)
Round 20: CH 1, HDC into the same stitch. HDC-2-TOG. *HDC into the next stitch. HDC-2-TOG. Repeat from * 8
more times. Join to the first HDC. (20)
Round 21: CH 1. HDC-2-TOG all the way around. Join to the first stitch. (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.
Add the safety eyes and stitch on the nose and mouth with yarn and and a yarn needle.
Stuff the neck and head. Weave the yarn tail back and forth through each stitch around. Pull tight to close the hole.
Weave in your end.

Ears (make two)

Row 1: CH 2. Skip one CH. 3 HDC into next CH. CH 1, turn. (3)
Row 2: HDC into next 3 stitches. CH 1, turn. (3)
Row 3: HDC into next stitch. 2 HDC into next stitch. HDC into next stitch. CH 1, turn. (4)
Row 4: HDC into next stitch. 2 HDC into each of the next 2 stitches. HDC into next stitch. CH 1, turn. (6)
Row 5-7: HDC into next 6 stitches. CH 1, turn. (6)
Row 8: HDC into next 2 stitches. 2 HDC into each of the next 2 stitches. HDC into next 2 stitches. CH 1, turn. (8)
Row 9-20: HDC into next 8 stitches. CH 1, turn. (8)
Finish off leaving long tail. Repeat for second ear.
Fold the wider end of the ears in half and attach them.

Arms (make two)

Round 1: Magic Circle. CH 1. 10 HDC into magic circle. Pull ring tight and join to first HDC. (10)
Round 2-10: CH 1, HDC into same stitch and each stitch around. (10)
Finish off leaving long tail. Repeat for second arm.
Weave the yarn tail back and forth through each stitch around. Pull tight to close the hole. Attach to the bunny. (I
didn’t stuff the arms)

Feet and Legs (make two)

Round 1: Magic circle. CH 1. 10 HDC into magic circle. Pull ring tight and join to first HDC. (10)
Round 2: CH 1, 2 HDC into same stitch. 2 DC into each of the next 3 stitches. 2 HDC into the next stitch. 2 SC
into each of the next 5 stitches. Join to first stitch. (20)
Round 3: CH 1, HDC into the same stitch. 2 HDC into the next stitch. *DC into the next stitch. 2 DC into the next
stitch. Repeat from * two more times. HDC into the next stitch. 2 HDC into the next stitch. SC into each of the next
10 stitches. Join to the first stitch. (25)
Round 4: CH 1, HDC into same stitch. HDC-2-TOG 5 times. HDC into the next 14 stitches. Join to first stitch.

Round 6: CH 1, HDC into same stitch. HDC- 3-TOG. HDC into each of the next 11 stitches. Join to the first stitch.
