In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and flour. Add beer and continue t o mix, first using a wooden spoon, then your hands. Batter will be sticky. Pour into a 9 x 5 inch greased loaf pan. 2. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees ) for 50 for 60 minutes. The top will b e crunchy, and the insides will be soft. Serve topped with butter or cheese spre ad.

DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch l oaf pan. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baki ng powder, salt and brown sugar. Pour in beer, stir until a stiff batter is form ed. It may be necessary to mix dough with your hands. Scrape dough into prepared loaf pan. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in to center of the loaf comes out clean.
