LOCT Saddle Worlds first dedicated mountain biking Saddle.

Bringing Dads Play time to their children and playing together -That’s harmonic!
World wide legislation dumb’ing us down….. for some of us!

My Battle in going up against the world legislation for the one thing I wanted to share was really
mountain bike riding with my son together on my full suspension specialized bike capable of riding off
road so forgivingly its soft bounce was fun.

The legislation wants to strap the child down tight, which is fine on a road, but that is not where a lot
of us want to ride to experience the out doors!

There are a few notes below on how I have tried to explain some of the benefits, when really a
pictorial add would do:
A very proud Smartly dressed couple with their little 4 year old daughter posing next to a sensible
family vehicle [white back ground] mounted on the back of the car almost out of site is a very good
looking mountain bike, Shot along side [white back ground] with the same grown MAN caked in muck
in all his gear with his really fantastic off road bike then simply a big Plus sign with the Orange day
glow of the LOCT Body space child saddle and all its gleaming CNC engineering with another simple
equals sign to PLAY TIME before BATH.

Notations; trusting in: our exceptional design, your natural care, your ability, your already attention
to detail on your carefully maintained and lovingly adapted bikes is a great and safe place for our
children to come and be involved with their DADs and play – INSTICTUAL.

One bike, one saddle and real dual mountain riding experience for their youth, bringing together you,
your sport and your littleone perfectly. One carrier system you’ll only ever need till they are well
trained and big enough to ride capably along side. 2-6year olds.

£225 a snip for the time involved and robust to last generations.

Got some bad news and some good news.

The bad news is that the first batch of Pre-production units finally sold out this year. The Low
volume sales proved from this trial that we could not afford to invest in tooling for the production
model.

However the good news is, I have been pressed to supply the Hand built ones (the pre-production
batch cost £500 per saddle to produce) and I have been able to secure prices to supply the hand built
versions at £225 + carriage, we have sold 15 of them all ready around the world.

It is clear from the response to our macro launch this saddle meets a specialist need in the market
place whom do not have a carrying option available and appear to want it as their real viable one
stop carrying option. The Loct system with its very unique rubber saddle capable of all rideable
decent/incline angles (by the adult) is specific only to LOCT and the systems are being used and
snapped up by Avid mountain bikers because it means they can have for 4 years with their 2-6 year
olds a real dual child mountain bike riding with their dedicated specialist bikes. The LOCT Saddle is
highly engineered and uses high quality metals for their performance qualities in this harsh off road
environment such as the flexible T6 Alloy and the hard wearing Stainless Steel. It is robust and will
not rust, it technically matches the bikes it is intended for and when it was launched the largest UK
Retailer considered it as the only child saddle that loads the bike properly down the fork tube and
seat post, they withdrew all their frame mounted systems off the shelves because of this structural
issue that we have so capably addressed.

Customers interested in purchasing one can ask for a quote by emailing Julia with their full delivery
details, contact number and any special requirements. You will receive our bank details and a
confirmed quote to carry out a bank transfer, a standard saddle delivered anywhere in the UK is £225
+ carriage (£6.99 UK next day). If we are out of stock it normally takes 2-4 weeks to produce.
I am making 2 special one off's with colour coded anodized alloy parts and can offer color matching
for customers, we can price for 1 & 1/2" front mount to fit the big down hill bikes (we have sold a
few of those too) lead times may add another 2 weeks.

Finally if you, your little one or your bike does not get on with the loct Saddle I will take the product
back top pass on to others, little ones do not let me have them back because I have not had one
back yet. Limited availability means there is a strong demand for a second hand one and in support
of this I am offering parts, repairs and straps FOC this is true for the Full four years of use. If you
have any questions or would like any further information please do contact myself or Julia.

I do sell quite a few at this price because of its benefits. You ARE ABOUT to
SPEND £225 and you want to know why AND why other people have. I have said to
people 'go buy the other products and try it out', I can save you the time
because I have had many customers convert back from those products to ours.
Loct saves us Mountain bikers money across all the mass market systems
available for this age group, it truly allows full Suspension mountain bikes
and a child saddle to combine effectively providing many memorable days out
experiences along with a sense of pride where the little one rides in to
school on his dad’s cool bike. (you'll see what I mean when you've got one,
as a family with 4 boys we can't do without ours, my first customer Andy Stern
has two, one for his place in Chamonix our original prototype 3 years ago and
a newer one here in the UK)

Our product has many, many design solutions for the Mountain biker when
combined with our specialist frame, it’s simple and none cumbersome in
addition to our kit, it mounts quickly (2 minutes without adaption), loading
children safely and quickly and to ride straight off, it couples as a mounting
bar allowing for some complex frames to actually fit on to a boot mounted bike
rack and helps to reduce the loading risk of frame damage, it has numerous
ergonomic settings and combinations for frame fittings, has great ride-ability
(straight knee's for candance on uphill sections), has real tutoring riding
and days out with your children having fun actually involving them
interactively.

It is the only one in the market that combines child saddle riding on full
Suspension alloy frames, and is a one stop shop for mountain bikers and child
carrying as it offers a wide age range comparable to combined use of a seat
and tag along system until they are developed enough to be riding next to you
on their own bikes effectively out on the trails.

There are loads of types of carrier systems which are very good but the loct
saddle is the only one designed for dual riding through Forest trails on the
most capable bike frames. It is the only one that truly embodies the real dual
riding experience off road and appropriately loads the frame equally down the
fork tube and seat post with a clever sliding system that allows the frame to
flex as normal!

This is a one stop shop if you are an avid mountain biker, your child's body
is developed enough to start riding at the age of 2 (98 percentile) we
naturally protect the little ones without the right developed muscles they
physically will not be able to join you. I liken it to the nomads where they
wrap their little one up in a cocoon and strap them to the side of a donkey,
their body is held fast in wraps for the journey and they should stay with
their mother in wraps until they them-selves are capable of running after you
gripping at your trousers and trying to climb up to come with you – Mother
nature’s way of saying yep we are ready to start getting involved.

There is a danger that the LOCT saddle could be compared with cheaper mass
market products it is a high quality, high end product and is aimed to
effectively combine our mountain biking sport with child accompanied riding.
For example I have a 1990 hard tail steel frame GT with a 1” top tube mounting
a saddle and foot pegs on the down tube, fantastic product, very cheap and
certainly an option for some people. Our customers such as myself have very
good quality modern mountain bikes capable of riding smoothly over forest
terrain and we are very confident and purchased on these bikes that we have
spent time setting up and really getting to grips with – this for off road
riding is the right confidence, experience and technology that creates the
most purchased, stable and safe situation to take our child on. I know this
which is why I invented the Loct System over 5 years ago. My boy at 18 months
was pointing at my gleaming full sus 2004 Specialized enduro, with 6" rota and
big 5” forks rather than my old GT with a frame mounted Saddle on it, even at
his age he could see the difference and wanted the fun. The LOCT saddle brings
a high end saddle and real design use to top end mountain bikes that have no
Saddle options at all and only have 2-3 seat options which cater for the
younger age range, which is unfortunate because the regulations stipulate ride
on smooth surfaces for these seats and there is a very good reason especially
in the younger age range. Our saddle encourages riding which in itself avoids
the risks they have identified with this clause.

Our system is a riding system, not a passive one, and fits all modern day off
road real Mountain bikes that are very good at carrying us over extreme
(perceived) all terrain with ease smoothly, safely and effectively. Without
the Loct Saddle as an option in the market place there is no dual riding
access with our desired frames.
It is a complex tasks to mount little ones on to these bikes effectively and
then to responsibly manage the forces correctly so as not to impair the bike
frames integrity. There is a risk people have taken for granted the simplicity
of our design which looks very obvious and performs to the requirements. To
illustrate this more clearly When we launched we were invited to discuss our
product with the UK’s largest retailer as they had just removed all other
frame clamped/mounted child carrier systems from their shelves because they
could not offer structural assurance which is why they wanted to see ours.
To mount loadings this way on a modern day mountain bike takes 54 components
made up with specialist materials specifically used for their individual
properties, such as T6 Alloy for its ability to flex and offer shock
absorbtion, high chromium Stainless steel for its good hard wearing properties
on the telescopic tubes to allow the bike frame to flex and to ensure live
loadings are delivered neutrally as possible and cause no frame cracking
torsional loadings, the ergonomic saddle only unique to LOCT offering grip and
support at all possible rideable angles of descent with minimum width designed
to allow your legs to rotate straight when pedalling, the lower legs with it
numerous variable settings to achieve the perfect poise and the rubber straps
that are specially angled with the foot grip movement allowing the child to
free their foot with measured effort backwards. It matches the frames in
technology and can be submerged and will not rust if chipped, and this is why
the mass market manufacturers will not produce it because it is not cheap to
produce and primarily it is not formed from a couple of plastic mouldings and
bent bit of powder coated steel. We spend thousands of pounds on our mountain
bikes and we honour this by offering LOCT with the equivalent technology and
material so you can effectively use both with your little ones – therein lies
the value; the combination of our sport, off road and our saddle is a
priceless experience unachievable with lesser systems – Which is the only
reason why I set about inventing this originally for me and my children, I
could not bear to miss this way of riding with them so freely, stupidly I
really wanted to share what I felt with others and I am so glad I did because
the feed back I get with the Dad singleton’s as riders getting back in touch
with their littleones in their field of expertise with confidence and fun is
worth all the loss and pain my family has had trying to share this experience.
I can ride out with my 9 year old step son on my robust bike and saddle (I am
6’4” tall)

Both my Boys Marcus and Toby now fill their time riding all our single track
trails at the amazement of other green/city type adults struggling, they are 4
and 7 doing all the technical trails over Lieth & Holbury Hill!! Video to
come. Many parents have said the bonding created especially for the Dads in
this field just is fantastic, this was my only reason for bringing my
invention to market because of the fun I found with my boys and stupidly
wanting to share this same experience with others for their little ones,
customers have said this is a priceless experience in this arena for the
family.

I support who ever has brought our product for the full 4 years in any
consumables and also at any time would like the chance to buy the saddle back
if you do not realise its true value and benefit offering a chance for other
little ones to enjoy and bond with their parents as in its intended design.

Happy and safe riding all terrain.

Kindest regards
