THE RELATIONSHIP OF KNOWLEDGE TO NURSE OBEDIENCE IN

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INFUSION AT SURGERY INPATIENT
ROOM IN TGK CHIK DITIRO SIGLI HOSPITAL

ABSTRACT
Infusion therapy is the common procedure for inpatient patient as intravenous
(IV) therapy, giving medicine, fluids, blood or sampling of blood. The effect of
improper proceeding, failure to insert veins, incorrect position, and unstable
implementation of fixation can make patient uncomfortable and can cause
complication of phlebitis also. Based on Tgk Chik Ditiro Sigli Hospital data, there
were 2.780 cases of phlebitis nosocomial infection in 2017, meanwhile there were
16 cases in female room and 110 in male room of surgery inpatient room. The aim
of this research was to find out the relationship of knowledge to nurse obedience
in the implementation of infusion at surgery inpatient room in Tgk Chik Ditiro
Sigli Hospital. The type of the research was Analytic to find out the relationship of
knowledge to nurse obedience. The population of this research was nurse’s
manager of male and female surgery inpatient room at Tgk Chik Ditiro Sigli
Hospital. A number of 54 nurses were taken as sample by using Total Sampling
method. This research was conducted on August 8 up to 20 in 2018. The data
analysis showed in univariate and bivariate analyzes. There was significant
relationship between knowledge to nurse obedience in the implementation of
infusion obtained P value 0.001 (p-value < 0.05). The result of the research
showed that there were significant relationships between knowledge and nurse
obedience in implementation of infusion. As a follow up for this research, it is
suggested that Tgk Chik Ditiro Sigli Hospital medical workers should increase
their awareness and knowledge especially about the implementation of infusion
based on SOP.
