INSANCITA:

Journal of Islamic Studies in Indonesia and Southeast Asia


This journal, with ISSN 2443-2776, was firstly published on February 5, 2016, in the context to commemorate the
Dies Natalies of HMI (Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam or Islamic Students Association) in Indonesia. The INSANCITA
journal has been organized by the Alumni of HMI who work as Lecturers at the HEIs (Higher Education Institutions)
in Indonesia; and published by Minda Masagi Press as a publisher owned by ASPENSI (the Association of Indonesian
Scholars of History Education) in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia and BRIMAN (Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia Academic
Network) Institute in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The INSANCITA journal is published twice a year i.e.
every February and August.

Article Guidelines/Instruction for the Authors
INSANCITA: Journal of Islamic Studies in Indonesia and Southeast Asia
INSANCITA journal will provide a peer-reviewed forum for the publication of thought-leadership articles,
discussion, applied research, case and comparative studies, and expert comment and analysis on the key issues
surrounding the Islamic studies and its various aspects. Analysis will be practical and rigorous in nature.

Prospective authors must adhere to the following guidelines: (1) article length is 10 pages minimum and 20 pages
maximum, including bibliography and appendices; (2) abstract and its key words are included; (3) the article may be
written by three persons maximum and it can also be written in English as well as Indonesian and Malay languages;
and (4) attach a bio mentioning author’s current profession, newest photograph, and postal and e-mail addresses.

The article should follow the outline:

Abstract (should be written in English and Indonesian/Malay languages)
Introduction
Method
Findings and Discussion
Sub title
Sub title
Sub title (adjusted as needed)
Conclusion (including the recommendation)
References (contains literature cited in the text)

Citation takes the following form: “…” (Ismail Ali, 2009:17). Bibliography from books, journals, and unpublished
sources should be written in the following form, respectively:

Information on the article’s possible publication will also be sent via e-mail. INSANCITA is an Indonesia national
journal as well as Southeast Asian regional journal in online version. Articles published in an online version are free.
But if the author who published articles and he/she wants to get the journal print, he/she will require to contributes a
journal fee for editing, printing, and shipping costs in which its amount will be determined later.

It is important to note here that since early 2016, the website of INSANCITA journal has been migrated from web
based on WP (Word Press) program towards the web based on OJS (Open Journal System) program at:
www.mindamas-journals/index.php/insancita

Unpublished articles will not be returned, except on written requests from the author.

Articles in the INSANCITA: Journal of Islamic Studies in Indonesia and Southeast Asia do not necessarily represent the views of
