Good morning teacher and dear classmates, today we are going to talk about

Colombia and its characteristics.

To start, let me introduce myself, my name is Jean Paul Pacori and my partners are
Kevin Untiveros and Jose Poma.

First, I’m going to talk about characteristics of country that we chose and its life
expectancy.

Colombia is located in the northern part of South America, has a population of

around 50 million people distributed in 32 departments. Its capital is Bogotá and its
official language is Spanish.

About its geography, we can say that Colombia has many valleys, for example: Valle
del Cauca and Valle de Magdalena. It also has a large mountain system, such as: La
Serranía de la Macarena and La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Now let's see the life expectancy of Colombia

Colombia has a life expectancy of 74 years.

The factors that determine this are the following: First, Health problems, especially in
children and second, delinquency, which is the main factor of premature death in
young people and adults.

Hi, my name is José Poma and I am going to talk about the wellbeing of Colombia
and the ecological footprint. From the first point, their score in wellbeing of the happy
planet index is 6.4 out of 10 and according with the Central Bank of Colombia, the
economic policy has energized the economy, it’s consequences are the increase of
the GDP per capita, the increase of the human development index and the increase
of the feel of wellness from the people. On the other hand, the social policy stabilized
the income of families, increased the social security and principally achieve the
highest full employment index of their history minimum. Continuing with the next
point, the ecological footprint in Colombia is one of the lowest in South America, one
of the Colombian policies was the FTSE4Good which meet many of the most
important companies in order to promote the recycle, reuse and reduce method.
Colombian people must use less electrical fluid in order to preserve more the
environment, and also provide laws to promote the protection and preservation of the
ecosystem.
Until the beginning of this year, 14.5 million Colombians live on less than $ 88 per
month. It is the second most unequal country in Latin America after Brazil and is
ranked 83 out of 140 countries.

Although it is true that it has decreased, the country does not advance economically,
an interesting fact is that the 3 richest men in the world own more than 10% of the
country's GDP.

Part of the poverty in this country comes from the mortality rate, there is no access to
medical care and many children die each year from preventable diseases, most from
malnutrition.

Finally, we have concluded that in spite of the cultural diversity that we can see in
Colombia, it is a country that does not have great advances or is modernized. Its
main problems are issues that have affected the country over the years, including
corruption and crime. These problems affect not only tourism but also Colombians,
they do not receive help from the government and if tourism falls the economy would
be affected.
