Having a high concentration of broadcast companies in one area allows for many ‘opportunities to start a career. The sports broadcast industry also generates many broadcasting jobs. (The Galveston area does not provide as many ‘opportunities for communications as much as Houston does, but Galveston County’s lower living costs make it a great home next to work.) Galveston is also the closest city to Houston, which makes it easy to live in Galveston while working in Houston.
