Teaching Practice Task 3: Noting Teaching and Learning Strategies

Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the course EPC 3403 – Practicum 3a (Course
Learning Outcome 1 –planning the lesson, 2- designing and creating resources, 3 – maintaining a
positive environment, 4 – considering individual differences and 5 – timing)

Objective: You will Identify and assess teaching and learning strategies. At the end of each day, you
will note a teaching strategy that you or the teacher used that you consider very useful and you
would want to use again. This strategy can deal with the planning of the lesson, the use of materials
and technology, the review of prior learning, the motivation of the children, the presentation of the
materials, the appropriateness of the practice activities, classroom management strategies, timing
strategies, reviewing the lesson, general assessment of the learning or if you are lucky enough to talk
to your teacher, her reflection on her lesson.

Grade: Week:
Day 1: Subject: Math (Multiplying the number in multiple digits)
Learning Outcome: multiple a number with multiple digit numbers with one-digit
number.
Strategy: Differentiation: use the coloring group strategy by set the students
according to their learning levels. Red group= low level, Blue group= middle level,
Green group= high level.
Day 2: Subject: Math (Factors and Multiples)
Learning Outcome: Find the multiples factors for total numbers (1-100).
Strategy: Think-Pair-Share: using this strategy allow the student to activate their
prior knowledge and share idea about this lesson. Also, using coloring group
strategy while their work as group.

Day 3: Subject: Math (Determination of multiplication output)


Learning Outcome: Estimating the output of multiplication by rounding.
Strategy: cooperative learning: here the teacher was set the students as groups and
before starting the lesson give them a material to come out with the idea of this
lesson after that she let them to do a strategy Think-Pair-Share to share the
information while there working together.

Day 4: Subject: Math (Multiples of numbers 10, 100 and 1,000)


Learning Outcome: The student must multiply the numbers by 10,100,1000, using
the basic fact and patterns.
Strategy: Reviewing and using technology: the teacher was always review with
them in the begging and the end of the lesson. Also, she was focussing to use
technology in the classroom. Such as, Plickers website to monitor and review with
them and another way.
