Gonzales Garden Club Witnesses Hummingbird Banding
The November 28th Gonzales Garden Club
meeting took place at the St. Amant home of
Member Mary Jo Pohlig for an educational
program on “Winter Hummingbird Banding”.
The guest speaker was Dr. Erik Johnson, a

150 people in the U.S. who holds a permit to
band hummingbirds. He is currently the
Audubon Louisiana Director of Bird Conservation
and also serves as an officer and board
member of many other ornithological and
conservation organizations.

Congratulations Jeff!

It’s the New Diet
Craze for the
year 2019.
A couple of weeks ago I went to
order a beer at Pelican Point and
Emily and Tina were like two chickens
pecking and fighting over the last food
in the yard.
I ask what’s up? They pointed out it
is the new diet fad. One person orders
a half of a sandwich. One person
holds it out front and they both fight for
a bite and what ever you get is your
lunch calories for the day.
It doesn’t seem very sexy but look at
these girls. Slim, trim and sexy. LOL.
