Sambuyeon Falls: Located in Galmal-eup in Cheorwon, Gangwon-do Province,

Sambuyeon is a 20-meter high waterfall. The waterfall has a mystic impression with
water cascading all year round without ever drying and surrounded by strangely shaped
rocks. The waterfalls in three different areas, creating a shape that resembles a
Gamasot, a traditional Korean metal cauldron used for making rice since the old days.
There is also a local legend that a dragon flew into the air from this waterfall, hence the
name Yonghwa-dong (yong meaning dragon) for the village.

The area is very clean as there are no restaurants and convenience facilities. About a
kilometer away is Yeougol Village, which is the site of the legend where a father who
once killed a fox almost had a fox marry his son.

Biyangdo Island: can be seen directly from Hyeopjae Beach, which is located
northwest of Hanrim Port. The word Biyang means to fly over, and indeed, legend has it
that Biyangdo Island actually flew over from China more than 1000 years ago. The tiny
island, accompanied by Hallim Park, Hyeopjae Beach, and Hallim Port, create a truly
picturesque landscape. At the peak in the middle of the island are two craters that form
a basin, which is home to a colony of Villbrunea frutescens, the only natural colony in
Korea. The island is also home to over 80 fish and various marine plants.

Biyangdo Island is a popular destination for both summer fishing and as a place for a
light hike. Although Biyang Peak is not high (only 114m above sea level) it still offers
visitors an opportunity to overlook the breathtaking landscape from Mt. Halla to various
volcanic mountains (called Oreum in Jeju dialect), dazzling coastal lines, and the
glittering waters of Hyeopjae Beach. There are a small number of houses scattered
around a quay at the foot of Biyang Peak, as well as an old unmanned lighthouse,
adding flavor to the island.

Handeok: Located 14 km east of Jeju City, Hamdeok Beach is famous for its clean and
shallow water, attracting many family visitors during summer vacations. The beach
offers great scenery with its emerald-blue water, an arched bridge over black basalt and
a red lighthouse. It boasts excellent amenities including dressing and shower rooms,
guesthouses, hotels, and a camping site. In addition, motorboats, onboard fishing,
waterskiing, and banana boats are available.

Shielded from wind by Seoubong Peak, both sides of the beach are quite calm despite
the change of wind directions, making it an ideal place for kayaking. Further out, wave
kayaking is also popular during windy days.
Hallasan Mountain: rises up proudly from the center of Jeju Island and is perhaps the
island’s most memorable landmarks. Also called Mt. Yeongjusan, meaning "mountain
high enough to pull the galaxy," Hallasan Mountain is widely known by scientists for its
geological value. Designated as a national park in 1970, there are 368 parasitic
volcanoes called Oreums (peaks) around the main mountain.

Hallasan Mountain is famous for its vertical ecosystem of plants that results from the
varying temperatures along the mountainside. Over 1,800 kinds of plants and 4,000
species of animals (3,300 species of insects) have been identified; to explore the
mountain's treasures, simply follow one of the well-developed mountain hiking trails.

Hallasan Mountain is relatively easy to hike. With hiking courses less than 10 km in
length, it is possible to go to the peak and back in one day. However, the constantly
changing weather brings a lot of wind, so make sure that you are well prepared before
you start climbing.
