Judge her if you want, fine, but this is something she s done for a long time, and she is probably the best. Besides, people pay well for her services. » Blood. There is nothing like fresh blood evening, midnight and morning. And, with her temper, her pets are always eager to oblige and so s her prey, not that they survive long enough to struggle.
» Sex. There are few things that can get a person through seventeen thousand years, a good deal of those spent isolated. Sex just so happens to be one of them. Besides, it s a brilliant weapon. » Control. Loves having it, hates giving it away. She does not enter into a situation that she knows she can t control. It would be a stupid, foolish thing to do. And she hates fools. » Power. With age like hers there comes great power, and it s that power that she enjoys the most. Where vampires are concerned, things definitely improve with age. Especially where certain vampiric gifts are concerned. » Immortality. So once upon a time she d hated the bitch and bastard that had done this to her but now she couldn t even remember their faces. If she did she might have thanked them for their little gift living forever sure did have it s perks. » Her blades: As a young woman she killed a sabertooth and a giant bird. The claws of the bird still decorate her today, the nails often worn over her own. But the teeth of the sabertooth she had made into two curved blades, weapons she now always wears on her person. (If you want to know how these blades look, look up the blades used by Ridding in Chronicles, and imagine them made of only bone.) » Blood of Immortals. A little discovery she d made over the years nothing tasted better than the blood of an immortal. Needless to say that when she hunts some nights her prey s not always a poor human trapped in a spiders web, but a bat that strayed to far perhaps. » Nests. Maybe it s habit, the way she had gotten used to things, but she likes to surround herself with other humans pets mainly and immortals. Of course, all these creatures are under her command. They are her property. » Music. Especially some of the more recent genres, preferably something with a good, hard beat, and a blend of symphonic sounds that will scare the shit out of any body sane. So sue her. » Loud music. What s the use of living in a soundproof home if you can t push said proofing to the limit. And with her music tastes as well as her occasional club the louder the better. » Clubs. Alright, so she has one of her own, but that doesn t mean she doesn t like to go out every other night. Besides, the drunken morons of the clubs made easy targets. Free the one moment, life signed away the next. Alcohol s a bitch, isn t it? » Money. Some might call her greedy, others financially sound. Either way, Abi believes that she had earned every sent she has. And she sure as hell enjoys knowing just how many cents there actually are in her little piggybank. » Magic. She has studied magics of all natures for a long time. It is a part of her now, and she enjoys practicing the things people like Mama Aguyal and Leveau, as well as the people of Satavahana. And she is good » Herbs and Scents. One will always notice a different scent every time you enter the home of the vampires her love for magic has also brought with it a love for herbs and oils. She often burns these, as well as bathing in some of her scented oils. » Darkness. The less light the better. One might consider this normal; she is a vampire after all. But Abi adores the dark. She could live without lights completely and still be perfectly happy. She had never needed them before, her eyes work just fine in the dark of night. » Leather. Yes, there are many wonderful and luxurious materials around the world, and Abi is rather fond of satin as one of these, but nothing beats the luscious feel of leather against skin. » Fear. Oh, to see the fear in a person s eyes as they realize their lives are ending, that they have come to the crossroads and they are not heading towards the light at the end of the tunnel. Such pleasurable fear » Manipulating others. Bending them to her will how could she not enjoy such a wonderful thing? To make them do her bidding as she pleases? And the best way to manipulate why, the female body, of course! » TV and Film. Such a wonderful invention. She continued her journey deeper into the forest. judging by how deep it was. curious to see which man caught his sixteen year old daughter s eye. placing herself in a small niche in the cliff face behind the spear-tooth. but the problem was this the track belonged to a rather large spear-tooth if she judged by it s size. and she would be disgraced. wary of all the creatures she encountered. but he agreed. she would not be allowed to marry within the village and if there was one thing Abi was not willing to give up it was Set. But. It only took Abi a day to find the predator. a spear-tooth. If she did not find a spear-tooth soon she would have to go home empty handed. It was not yet dark. and Abi had no idea how long she would be from home before she discovered the animal who would make her a woman. studying it. But the chance that it could actually scent Abi now was quite low she had covered herself in the excrement of the creature to hide her own scent all the animal could do now was sense the difference. she could see it clearly from where she hid. or that of a huntsbird. and his teeth glistened as it sniffed at the air before growling and looking around suspiciously. were also hunting and she could easily become the food of her prey. She still wore the vine bracelet. and most likely a very heavy male or a pregnant female. even more so than a male. carefully following and guessing for many weeks until she finally heard the roars of the large animal. and the thick cover hid her from the huntsbirds that occasionally flew overhead. preparing to attack. until finally. The reason for this was when she went to hunt her first spear-tooth she would come back a victorious woman. and. This was not an option. Her father was a little surprised as she requested doing this. The spear-tooth was clearly tense. she distracted the large creature.marriage. and the fighting for her hand would begin. she knew. With a loud growl it attack and Abi had to make a split second decision praying to her ancestors that it would work she pointed her spear outwards toward the leaping animal. and she was sure that this would be it s weakest moment. courting and more. The large predator had become a rare feature in the forests closer to the village. Abi slowly went deeper into the forest. It turned out to be a rather sizable male.
. many she had never seen before but only heard tales about. but of smell there was no trace. By the second full moon Abi had become slightly desperate. She could track it. the time in which her prey saw at it s best. one day. spear made by her own hand her only weapon. and pregnant females were deadly when cornered. It had sensed someone in it s territory and it wasn t happy. but it was also no longer light. But the small animal scared to quickly and the predator realized there was another presence just as she began to back into the niche that would have protected her. the sun having sunk below the horizon leaving but a glimmer of light behind. even worse.
but that time was hard on both. But Abi still favoured only one man and that man fought hard and true for the woman he loved. and after a battle that had Abi almost literally in tears. The journey back to the village was a long and difficult one. as well as removing the teeth and claws form around her neck. leaving only Set and a warrior named Apipa to battle it out. Abi was even more sought after considering the fact that no son had been born to the chief as yet. and soon the claws of a huntsbird joined the teeth around her neck. but until then it would be hers to wear. Still. It was with a smile that Abi removed the large skin from her shoulders. Abi s father announced that the time of the wedding had arrived. screaming for the chief. or simply sitting with each other for whatever little time they had. The man frowned slightly as he saw evidence of two kills. The next morning Abi began her journey home. the heavy animal thudding loudly as it landed on the ground. and rather badly wounded. After being blessed the fight commenced. The meat of the spear-tooth. Yuftan looking on proudly before announcing that courting would begin. She was also to go hunting with the rest of the young women in the village and. rituals to wait for. Abi and Set would meet in secret. very happy and very pleased Abi met her father and her mothers at their home. The next day the fighting for her hand would begin. using this time away from prying eyes. there were rules to obey. Abi was now a woman. and so they did. as dictated by tradition.supporting both herself and her spear against the rock face. The fur would become the property of her future husband. a small gift at times. which meant that whoever married Abi would. The final day arrived. She also harvested it s teeth. tying it to her body. the meat of the animal wrapped in the large leaves of the Iguppi plants. A smiling. but the frown soon became a smile as he took the teeth and the claws and hung them back around her neck before the mothers came and quickly pulled the large skin over her. she did not know how long her journey back to the village would be. but victorious and in much better shape than the dying Apipa. hanging it around his to signify that she was to belong to him. A few other woman in the village were commanded to divide the meat among the residence before Yuftan commanded his daughter to rise and he presented her to the village his daughter. although she would be the one to bring him his meals as the rest of the women in the village did. become the next chief of the village. unfortunately. laying the meat and her bloodied spear at the feet of her father. Hurt. but five full moons after her kill a victorious Abi strode into the village just as dawn broke. spear protruding from his chest. Instead she opened her eyes to feel the foul last breath of the animal blast in her face. The fighting occurred over many dies as the warriors from not only their village but other villages as well came to fight for the hand of the chief s daughter. This would be the hardest part for the couple until Set could pray the price for Abi (doing this by working for Yuftan) they were not too touch at all. After all. most likely. She also bathed in the creatures blood. and the ancestors blessed her. her eyes closed as she prepared for the lethal blow But it never came. it s sap preventing the meat from going bad. Set emerged victorious. finally. appealed to the other animals of the forest. With a victorious cry she pushed the spear away. skinning it and cleaning the pelt. Apipa was younger than Set. The rest of the night was spent cleaning the animal by a large fire.
. A secret kiss on the hand. And. being just twenty two while Set was nearing his twenty eighth year. carving into them the symbols of her ancestors before holing them and stringing them to her neck as a sign of her kill and her new status. the ancestors had answered her prayers. droplets of blood trailing down the spear and onto her hand the creature had leaped onto the positioned spear. the meat preserved with that of the spear-tooth. a early rising woman announcing her arrival by running through the village.
She could smell. felt different now and it was as a villager ambled into the necropolis that Abi realized what had happened to them. One of the warriors. and Abi and Set were married right there. The air around them had been majestic and powerful. For now. in the necropolis. It was dark and it was safe. and the arrival of this goddess preventing that did not please her at all. rushed outside and died screaming as the sun seared through him. the villagers attacked the surprised Tanit. All time was to be spent taking care of the goddess and her consort. Their only hope now was to find one of the other villages. and she knew this. killing all those within. The only problem was travelling the thick trees did not hide all of the sunlight. and the power they demonstrated were inhuman. and dead bodies were strewn around them. But when they attacked the necropolis they were shocked at what they found Tanit and her consorts were drinking the blood of the priests. When they awoke the fake deities were gone. But soon many of the priests began to appear sickly and weak. It was Set who finally proposed trying to burrow like some of the animals in the forest. a man and a woman who called herself Tanit. leaving no trace behind. Abi and Set at its head. She was no longer their child. This. And then even more villagers became ill. too. as the goddess and her consort went to live in their necropolis. and swept through the village like a plague. A suspicious Abi could no longer stand watching her village dying a very slow death. and with the help of Set she gathered a few who would stand with her against these gods that had brought nothing but bad luck to their village since arriving. Clearly this had been the reason the goddess had never been seen during the day. Abi. but at first she paid it no mind. Unfortunately the timing of the goddess had Abi rather angry. They were to lead this new band of creatures as they slowly learned about themselves and how to survive. not satisfied with having to share. but a child of darkness. proposing instead that they send out hunters and herders during the night to find animals to bring
. explaining that they wanted to be with the spirits of the ancestors. though she did not show it. noted that they. shocking those who had been about to follow. The women had a few days to prepare Abi for her wedding and on the night of the full moon she and Set would be united. making food scarce. wasn t too fond of this idea. However. She had waited a long time to be united with Set. of course. her father insisted. Angry. but there was a pain that they simply couldn t explain Abi felt very different when she woke up. see and hear things she never could have before. It was as night descended that they emerged as one powerful group. The others quickly turned to Abi for leadership. sinking unhumanly long teeth into his body and drinking his blood blood that tasted much better than she ever could have imagined. but it didn t matter anymore. and piling those who were dead. They had become like Tanit and the realization was followed by herself and the others all attacking the villager. Even the forest seemed to sense the change in the village and animals gave them a wide berth. and this task fell to different villagers on different nights. by one of the few priests that had survived. however. sometimes even being unable to recall their consultations with Tanit. unable to remember where they had been or what they d done. and no one felt particularly inclined to burning up. The night before the union two strangers arrived in their village. but they were no match for the strength of the immortals and slowly each one sank into unconsciousness. meant that all events of the village were placed on hold The Goddess had arrived. But it wasn t to be. as well as the priests. The last straw was when some of the villagers simply disappeared. Set. But she also knew that their closest food source had just been depleted. working instead with Set to rouse the other warriors from sleep. and many of the others. they would live in the necropolis. however. It was only after their hunger had been sated that Abi realized her father and mothers had been part of the death toll. sleeping under ground during the day and travelling at night.
until the night one of the scouts notified Abi of a group of humans that had arrived at their village. and that supply just so happened to consist of humans.back to the necropolis. The inside of the necropolis soon became more of a palatial home for the creatures rather than a house of the dearly departed it had once been. The group that had been sent out returned not long later but also not a moment too soon. For a few moments anyway. and they also had a sizable necropolis of their own. human attributes and feelings slowly disappearing as the group became more like animals than the people they once were. words becoming less and less of a necessity. so much better than the blood of animals they had been living on. and find the village these scouts had come from. and tracks of animals were oddly lacking. rolling over their tongues was enough for Abi to make a decision they needed a better food supply. The taste of human blood. other animals of the forest seemed to avoid them. and life seemed rather acceptable for those who lived there it was one of pleasure. They could still take some of the animals. before the creatures bared their fangs and attacked them. A small contingent of men and women were sent out to find creatures for them to keep while Set. The group of scouts had been rather surprised when the villagers appeared from among the shadows and the tree s. of constant festivity and of night. Abi and Set communicated with most by mind. Where they were there was silence. slaughtering the lot. larger than the one they had once belonged too. who slept. but also slightly relieved. music oft filling the night as the danced. Abi and Set leading them. attacking the surprised villagers in their beds. They would still have to gather food for whatever animals they kept for the next two seasons or so. The journey was a long one. They would burrow. despite having their herd animals. If they survived the day by burrowing as Set suggested she might be more open to the idea. They would attack the following night. as far as Abi was concerned. who stayed awake. Abi and the rest worked on creating for themselves an actual home. It was only after a noticeable amount of corpses littered the ground that Abi realized
. was larger than their own. What they d found were empty homes. and so they sent two scouts to find the village of these men before returning. This was all time Abi had needed. most of them seemingly fit for breeding as well. The one thing Abi did notice was that. One of the other s happened to suggest growing food for these animals and that night they planted some of the seeds from fruits in the forest. should they need to resettle somewhere else. not wanting to set out home until first light. the location of the village having been discovered. as well as seeds from the plants they had grown. made even longer by the fact that they could only travel at night and rest by day. That very night Abi gave the order for the nest to prepare to leave. It took nearly five full moons for the scouts to return victoriously. When they d finally arrived they spent the rest of the night studying the village. With an eerie silence they invaded as night fell. and how things worked. but then they would be able to feed the animals form their own crop. gathering the animals as well as seeds. Once the location was known they could all set out together. But they also knew to send the whole nest would be a danger to them. but animal blood would no longer suffice on its own. That was. They also found that this village. Since there had been no word from Yuftan or his village for a long time they had decided to find out what was happening. Blood was carefully drained from the animals to prevent killing them. seeing as those who had stayed behind had been feeding of smaller animals that were just about completely useless and with quite a few animals. as many of the herders had done. Not that it bothered her much at the time she wanted nothing more than to find the village and to taste the blood of mortals again. once they made this discovery. but they decided to settle in the village that night. Satisfied they returned to the forest tree line to burrow before the sun rose. celebrating their new lives. Slowly the necropolis turned into a nest of vampires.
this became clear. signifying a new age for their nest. even if they did breed. It was time to move on. What could be wrong with eternal youth? Especially while life was this good. their blood losing flavor. Of course. but it was also incredibly cold. She had begun to notice what the others had not the climate was changing. The most experienced hunters were sent out to see if they could gather any herd animals again humans could only be kept alive for so long. It would be just one of the many things she would learn over time. no one disagreed. It was light. some even pleased to do so. only in nightly hours under th e watchful eye of capable guards. and quickly. a human being able to best you. despite Abi and her fellow creatures drinking from them. The forests was becoming no more and animals had become an extreme rarity. But the fact was this supporting both the animals and the humans just didn t work. While they were no longer bound by time. when it seemed that there were to many mouths to feed among her nest.some of the villagers managed to stay alive if they weren t drained when she and her kind drank from them. Abi would turn those who proved to greedy to the sun. It was also around this time that they all noticed something else they did not age. But when the nest grew restless again. time itself did not stop moving. They would keep and breed these survivors like they had done with the animals that had sustained them over time. Abi convinced them not to kill this herd of humans as they had those before them. Of course these humans were well taken care off. to an extent. and animals became scarcer. seeing as the blood of these men and women just tasted so much better than that of animals. Whatever food could be found wasgathered at great speed for them. Set and those with them. the creatures hunting or them. and their humans were fed and kept alive. but with the addition of new younglings to their nest. living happily as they always had. At that time none of them really understood that feeding pleasurable. and they didn t seem inclined to escape. Keeping and breeding the humans seemed quite the pleasurable life for a while. It was but a few days later that their next experienced a phenomenon cold white rain. But instead of turning the weaker
. Time had become so meaningless to them that they had not realized. Needless to say. She immediately ordered them to keep the survivors instead of killing all as the plan had been. you would be replaced with this human. Not that Abi was complaining. living there for a time with the humans as food. growing thinner. living in the same place for many years weren t always so wonderful. but none of the creatures noticed. standards quickly rose. And. and soon the nest became restless. They decided to live in the necropolis they had discovered earlier. for the person they fed from. and so the decision was made to kill the humans instead of the animals. And. At first the hunters returned at reasonable intervals with animals of breeding capabilities. When their humans grew old they would be discarded or killed. while some of the more experienced growers worked on finding ways to grow their food bearing plants inside the necropolis. They received news from their scouts that entire villages were leaving. This would set the norm for the first few centuries of their lives attacking and herding a village. and a younger generation would step up. Their was also the problem of adapting to the new weather as well as too many mouths having to be fed. They had reached such a size in the next that They began to keep whole village to sustain them. the humans quite literally kept caged during the day and allowed to proceed as they normally would. and soon a blanket of white covered the ground. But things began to change. a good way to motivate others not to overindulge themselves. If you were no longer good at what you did. far from the relentless flows of freezing ice outside. and time had lost all meaning to Abi. Their herd of humans had suddenly become invaluable. It was at their second village that Set turned a young woman accidentally. hoping to find greener pastures away from this new blanket of ice. The forest began to change.
As he d expected. Abi commanded those who had been chosen to live to drink from them. having no idea how much time had passed for them. Abi was intrigued and she and her husband ordered the villagers to seek out these animals. and still the ice remained. Abi led the group on feeding from the poor bastards. one among them much larger than the others. It was a good life and. The next night saw the nest. dubbing them Talmaka or two tailed . Their blood was not bad. there d been no objections and scouts set of in every direction. hoping to find a new home before there wouldn t be any need for one anymore. The time until these scouts returned were a rather oppressed one for the immortals in the nest as many feared doing something that would tick of their queen as she d dubbed herself. in reference to the tail-like feature on the faces of the large beasts. and when she finally settles into her life she would also keep pets of a vampiric nature. Abi was growing tired of remaining in this place. Finally the forest was gone completely. until the hunters killed three of them. Time passed. covered and killed by the white rain. The animals were stubborn. But one scout returned with amazing news large furry creatures had arrived to their world. and when the animals needed to feed and there were no crops available they would be taken beyond the necropolis to scavenge for themselves before being brought back. like before. even if it meant killing and draining
. powerful and hard to control at first. But none dared to complain. They had joined the group after being invited to do so by there leader and. with Set as her king. which meant that the crops were no longer as urgent as before. Abi was beyond pleased when she saw the large animals.of their kind to the sun. It was a happy day for all when one of the scouts finally returned with news He had encountered nomadic tribes who had told him that they were heading for a new land where other villages had settled. and the ground beneath was hardened by the cold. This seemed to weaken the animals resolve and a good deal of the herd was soon being guided back to the latest necropolis nest. Over the years she would often feed from them if she got the chance. travelling at night while sleeping in Talmaka skin under the white rain during the day. and the bone and large teeth of the animals would make powerful weapons and useful tools. Animals were gone. although a little difficult to acquire without upsetting the beasts to much. For the good of their nest an irritated Abi turned out to be a dangerous Abi Set sent out scouts. The animals also seemed to be able to find their own food under the ice. mostly. commanding them to go out as far as they could. bred and went. They were not to return without news or hope of a new home. living in herds and in such size that they would easily be able to feed the nest. of living the same life every day. after gathering more information about other tribes as well as this new place everyone seemed to travel too. and burrowing became almost impossible. no matter how good this life was. the creatures came. or what remained of it. As they travelled they met another nomadic tribe heading for this amazing new place of promise. where the ground was fruitful and not hard and unrelenting and where many had decided to start anew. First there was a thick layer of white to get through. But this was easier said than done. one where there was no white rain. even more of their humanity was lost as there were no longer any humans around them. but the ice remained. The thick fur of the animals slain served well as shelter from the sun when burrowing was next to impossible. killing every one it was their first human blood in a long time and Abi wasn t about to lose the chance of enjoying it. She wanted to leave. to find a new home and to be rid all the cold and stark white around them. leaving all they had once known behind to find this new home. This was were her great love for the blood of vampire s began. preferably one free of the blasted white rain. to herd them and to bring them back to the necropolis. It was either this or watch as Abi fed on and killed all the immortals in their nest.
about better ways to grow their crops. digging out small plants and bark to eat from the earth below. She
. The other immortals seemed quite content as well. the cold layer becoming thinner and thinner as they travelled. And then Abi fell pregnant. and the town grew into a city. herding. the youngest among them not for a little over such a century. The cycle had continued as those of Abi s village had taken the creatures for gods and as they had been fed from without their knowledge. and Abi gladly did so herself. as was Set. It was near these humans that they would settle. Her name of Djeseret was no longer satisfactory. usually. The last thing they d needed was for these people to turn on them as they had turned on their own makers. they ll become the food for Set. But they were careful they never took too much. the next splitting into homes of their own. but those who did not follow the rules were put down. Set. new people arriving from distant places. It was along this river that they journeyed until they reached a small village of farmers along the banks. Soon it was considered quite normal and quite a few humans were selected for the honor of feeding the gods. They also continued to feed from their herd. although Abi was becoming rather unsatisfied with this. They lived happily with these humans. had gained title of Sun God. decided to take one of the humans as a pet. and not one part of it capable of sustaining any growth. fertile land and a great river. New temples were constructed. Finally the ice seemed to disappear completely. and she gained this by drinking from his blood. and no child had been forthcoming. In return these people built for them a temple what could they be other than gods with al they had to offer? and the humans worshipped them.every person in the tribe. giving them gifts. in return. Perhaps this had been one of the many reasons they had depicted her as Goddess of the Dead. The village grew into a town. and soon some immortals had their own temples. born of her own flesh not just her blood. They visited the people every night. And finally their hopes were answered they woke up one night to find the herd happily digging their great tusks into the ground. SO much time had past. Of course. At one point Abi. so too Abi and hers fed from these humans. which usually meant the wonderful taste of virgin blood. slightly larger. Time to them meant nothing. hoping to find some place where there was more than emptiness beneath the cold layers. on some level. and they were generous and they were gullible. And. a land of green grass. They continued travelling in the direction that the sun would rise. passing on the knowledge that had seemed to disappear as their people had when the white these people called it ice had arrived. she d even accepted that she would never have her own offspring. They taught the people about building. But now she would finally have her own child. and improving their way of life in general. millennia. Shock is by no means a word apt to describing how she d felt. Not that it really mattered to most sunsets and sunrises had been something the oldest of them had not seen in centuries. They were prosperous. as far as she was concerned a goddess deserved a better name and so she became Nephtys. for some reason. Finally the white around them seemed to thin. while she was Goddess of the Dead. new generations born. But still they travelled. although they never witnessed it. and the land they had been looking for lay before them. those she turned becoming h children er instead. Pretty soon Abi also found out that the humans had chosen roles for them. only the purest were selected. She informed this human that it was perfectly normal as a goddess she needed of his life force. Abi and those who travelled with them. and people died. advice. burrowing underground and waiting to approach these people with a gift of a Talmaka herd. against Set s advice. but underneath there was little to be excited about it seemed only earth lay hidden away. Abi settling very happily into her role of goddess. these villagers won t know that. Abrihta loved this new life. Perhaps.
The journey was extremely uncomfortable. But Set s anger knew now bounds. and finally this anger was turned upon the other immortals. For all his faults. The strong child turned into a handsome man and he. was presented to the people of their world. paid traders a hefty sum to transport them. the time of ice and cold. of course. But even she knew she could not live this way for whatever time she still had in front of her. For a long time she refused to leave the temple. The people did not need them to be there it was they idea of gods that they loved and worshipped. the wooden walls did nothing for the heat. and he too grew up believing that he was. and allowed only Anubis and those she fed on into her company. looked like. in fact. despite what he was doing. and finally told Anubis that she would leave.
. but he could understand that she d felt there was no need to explain. It took a very graphic description to convince the curious young child that the day was not meant for them. The only difference was. he still was a god. too. He had begun to attack some of the people of the city. gods or not. She d told him the truth about her people.was overjoyed. even at night. They were to be placed in a closed container. and neither Abi and Anubis nor their two humans left the container. Again celebrations could be heard throughout the city. As a family. They were not oblivious to the dangers of human beings. and angry at first. Despite the sun being kept out. They watched as small groups broke away. and received news years later that these small groups had established cities of their own. He had been shocked. a world she hadn t even known existed. not gods themselves. but they did not complain the last thing they needed was to draw unwanted attention to themselves. and soon the once loved Sun god became the epitome evil to their people. and positioned him with the dead as they had Abi. Of course they believed him to be a god. they. Thankfully these traders had what would come to be called carts. especially after centuries of living a finer life. It was Anubis who finally attacked and killed his father. Set had still been her husband. but one never knew with their volatile and cruel natures. and two human pets who could not speak. Yes. and the man she d loved. how long they d lived. though he was rather stubborn about sunlight at first. and were extremely primitive by modern standards. Without as much as a second thought he would kill those who he felt simply looked at him in a way he did not approve and blood stained the walls of the temples immortal blood. tired of the falseness of their world. Anubis had swallowed his father! But Abi did not celebrate. They might not attack them openly. Traders were selfish. and many where dangerous. even these from a place they called Ur in Mesopotamia. but a much less loved one. they did. and while Abi wasn t exactly a defenseless woman or a completely saint-like one either she still loved Set. never aging. This violence finally fell on Abi and Anubis as well. and now she had the perfect chance to see what the rest of the world. and as a nest. The crossing of the sand was anything but a pleasant journey though. Abi and her immortals watched their people evolve and grow stronger. but it would work in transporting their wooden shelter. a god. It would be a long time before Abi finally told him the truth. a large one of wood that would not allow sun inside. Anubis grew up well and strong. So. together. despite willing pets at his command. and celebrations rocked the city and its temples on the night Anubis was brought forth into the world. everything. Abi had never told her son any different. But for now she let all be why destroy a good thing? But after Anubis birth Set simply was not the same anymore. draining him. They could easily turn upon the immortals if they suspected they had anything of value in their possession which. Abi had heard rumors and tales of new cultures evolving across the seas and over the sands. about the gods that had made them these creatures.
however. Mahalmin. knowing his mother wasn t quite ready to let him be yet. It had taken some convincing. This. The latter proved to be quite the interesting place. happened to be an interesting place. though it usually ended in death for the unfortunate victim. before Set. Abi and Anubis remained for a while in an Inn. It might not have bothered her at first. in other words everything they made. but Mahalmin agreed to leave his home and everything he d known before to travel with Abi and her children. Anubis. She had not been alone but for the first few years of her life. both decided it would be safer to leave before waves of people arrived. But Abi was a restless soul. and then. strangely. The goods. While their human pets had died trying to defend them which had been completely unnecessary Abi and Anubis quickly dispatched the traders. which they did with the help of a smart human and. but not a culture that fascinated them enough to hinder their journey to Elam. Four immortals they had been. Mahalmin became curious about their nightly activities Abi did not feed form him and soon Abi told him the truth of what she. From Babylos they travelled into Assyria. and she had no intention of settling in one place now. however. and in anger Abi killed and drained him. and with the right amount paid. and soon they were travelling again. She had lived stuck in the necropolis nest at first. It would prove useful in their future travels. Angered by her betrayal Anubis left to travel on his own and. but never did they spend more than one night with a tribe. did not live with Abi and Mahalmin. In Elam they first travelled to a place called Susa. however. Perhaps it was because she d felt the need to now that Anubis had found one for himself. and as they travelled both Abi and Anubis learned many new languages. These served as rather delicious snacks on their travels. And so it began. then travelling on the blasted ice. they decided to sell themselves. or perhaps it was because loneliness had begun to touch her. Abi decided she wanted to travel over the mountains to whatever lands lay beyond. This was not the time or the place for pets. surprisingly. to Der and Nineveh. a very dead human. against the advice of those residing their. in doing so left Abi to cross the mountains on her own. He. an offer which they accepted. did seem to have many morals or cares. They travelled further up to Nippur and Babylos. too. and happy as well. drawn to the idea of travelling themselves. would offer them immortality when she and Anubis who had happily taken on a lover for himself. They lived here with a Slave Trader and his wife both of whom. She simply could not live in one place any more. but with all their travels she had come to love the freedom. decided that this was definitely not for him. but he did remain in Awan with Umdeshi. and had allowed her to turn him. meeting Kassites on the way. The profits. had not been shocked or appalled. they kept. reminding her exactly how delicious she d once found the blood of her own kind. and they met nomadic tribes called Hittites. It would be no different than settling at that was the last thing on her mind.
. in interesting travelling tribe. The people. of course. They travelled until they reached Harappa. resulting in the death of Umdeshi as well. where they spent some time Abi rather enjoyed the blood of the people here but when talk of some sort of great project started. knowledge and entertainment travelling had bestowed on her. and blood was easily procurable. They had but barely arrived in Ur when the Traders had released them and tried to exact more payment for their services. It was here that Abi would take her first lover since Set. Abi. and finally in the temples of Egypt. This time they travelled into Elam. Especially not since they wished only to remain on the move. pleased by this. as soon as all the goods were sold and he demanded his payment. treated them like important guests rather than like the slaves they resembled. Besides. Their journey took them deeper inland. Umdeshi left a few years later. Anubis and Umdeshi were. they d never intended to stay forever. From Susa they travelled on to Awan.
