Online Blood Donation Management System

2. Introduction

The purpose of developing this system is to provide blood to the people who are in need
of blood. The number persons who are in need of blood are increasing in large number day by day.
Using this system user can search blood group available in the city and he can also get contact
number of the donor who has the same blood. Using this blood bank management system people
can register himself or herself who want to donate blood and if some want need blood, he or she
can get blood by contacting the donors.

3. Problem

In Sri Lanka still there are no online blood donation system. The Current System that
is using by the blood bank is manual system. With the manual system, there are problems in
managing donor’s detail, blood components stock details and blood request details. The
operation in manual system is tedious, time consuming and space consuming.

4. Study Aim & Objectives

 Aim

 The main aim of this project is to save lives of people by providing blood online using
technology.

 Objectives

 To provide a means for the blood bank to publicize and advertise blood donation
programs.

 To allow the probable recipients to make search and match the volunteer donors,
and make request for the blood.

 5. Background

Through this online blood donation system person who is interested to donate the blood he or she
can register him/ her self. If someone need blood, he or she can search donors in this site by blood
group and can get the donor’s details. Admin is the main authority who can do addition, deletion
and modification if required. If someone register as a donor the registration will be pending
because admin need to confirm the donor is fake or not. If the donor is real admin can active the
registration to publish details on the site.

 If someone need to get blood there are no online blood banking in Sri Lanka.
 If someone need to donation blood there are no online blood donation.

2. Planning

 Gather requirement for the system

 Preparation of documentation.
 Create interfaces and data bases.
 Implementation.
 Testing.

 Draw ER diagram and class diagram using creatly software.
 Design user interface from using Adobe muse software.
 Design database using MySQL software.

4. Developing
 Develop pages and Hyperlinks.
 Develop Functionality.

5. Testing
 Testing webpage.
 Controlling webpage.
