January is National Mentoring Month!

Peer Mentors to Receive New T-Shirts

Starting next semester, students in the peer mentoring program will be seen sporting their new program T-shirts on campus. The program
T-shirts are heather-gray with the program logo and motto on the front and back respectively. The T-shirts will offer visibility and
recognition to the students who have played a crucial role in the academic and social transition of new students at Macomb. The launch of
the peer mentoring T-shirt will take place in January 2019 during National Mentoring Month celebrations. Mentors are encouraged to
participate in the month-long celebration by wearing their black mentoring program T-shirts.

Four major events to mark National Mentoring Month:

January 4, 2019 – I Am a Mentor Day


A day for volunteer mentors to celebrate their role and reflect on the ways mentees
have enhanced their world
♥ January 9, 2019 – Macomb Mentoring T-Shirt Day
A day to show off your support for on-campus mentoring and help connect new
students to the program.
January 17, 2019 - International Mentoring Day
A day of international conversations on social media where photos, video, and
powerful mentoring stories messages are shared.
January 21, 2019 – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
A day to share in the inspirational words of Dr. MLK, Jr. andelevate the spirit of
service through volunteerism. This day concludes the #ThankYourMentor campaign!
Anyone with real life mentoring experiences can thank those who helped them on
their path to adulthood and beyond.
