2 PIPE MATERIALS

Pipe and fittings for the various services shall be in accordance with the following table :

A Galvanized mild steel to BS-1387 Galvanized mild steel fittings to BS-1740 and
‘medium’ grade flange joints to BS-4504 screw joint to BS-21 for
pipe size up to 50 mm dia. flanged joints for pipe
size 65 mm dia. and above or mechanical
coupling (victaulic).

B Black steel pipe to BS-1387 Black mild steel fitting to BS-1740 and flanged
‘medium’ grade joints to BS-4504 screw joint to BS-21 for pipe
size 50 mm dia. flanged joints for pipe size 65
mm dia. and above or mechanical coupling
(victaulic).

C Light gauge copper pipe to BS- Copper soldered fittings to BS-864 Part 2 or
2871 Table-X for internal capillary joints and slip-in flange welded to pipe
services and general engineering to BS-4504 from pipe size 65 mm dia. and above.
and Table-Y for ground pipe-
work.

D Unplasticised PVC pipe JIS-6741 uPVC fittings to JIS-6739 Class VP

F Polypropylene Pipe to BS-4991 Polypropylene fittings, heat fusion welding up to

Series-1 ( PPR ) Type III PN-20 80 mm dia. and butt joint for 100 mm above.

G Polypropylene Pipe to BS-4991 Polypropylene fittings, heat fusion welding up to

Series-1 ( PPR ) Type III PN-10 80 mm dia. and butt joint for 100 mm above.

H Polyethilene Pipe to SNI 06- Poly-ethilene fittings, compression joint up to 50

4829-2005 Class PN-10 mm dia., electrofusion up to 150 mm dia. and
segmented for 150 mm above.

I Cast Iron Pipe to ASTM A 888 Cast Iron fittings to ASTM-A-74. Connect with
and CISPI 301 Coupling to ASTM-C-1277 and 1540. Gaskets to
ASTM-C-564.
