I. GRAMMAR PRESENTATION – COUNT NOUNS & NON-COUNT NOUNS

Count Nouns – Singular and Plural

II. SOME & ANY WITH COUNT & NON-COUNT NOUNS

SOME is used for affirmative sentences.


ANY is used for negative sentences and questions.
SOME & ANY are used with plural count nouns and non-count nouns (always singular).

We need some onions.


I want some onions in my fried rice.
Put some meat in the soup, please.

Do you need any tomatoes?


Does your mom need any cilantro for the corn stew?
Do you want any bananas with your cereal?

We don’t need any ice cream. It’s cold.


I don’t want any strawberries in my fruit salad.
I don’t like to eat any meat on weekdays.

III. CONVERSATION PRACTICE:

Joel: Hey do you want any groceries from the supermarket? I’m going there now.

V. A YUMMY FOLK RECIPE FROM GREECE…

Name: Lamb chops prepared Greek Style

Recipe:
First, marinade the lamb with salt, pepper, lemon juice, oregano, and olive oil.
Next, make sure to do the same with the potatoes.
Then, pour some olive oil in a cooking pot and warm it up.
After that, put the marinated lamb and potatoes in the pot, and let it cook for about 45
minutes.
Finally, serve it and enjoy it with a nice glass of red wine.
