The martial arts can help many. The little boy who can’t sit still, or perhaps the one that won’t stop talking; but what
about the shy little girl who clings to moms’ leg? In a strong sport such as karate, it is often mistaken for a boys only
sport. And that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Imagine your daughter refusing to go out onto the soccer field on her own or onto the dance floor without crying for
you. At last you decide to try karate, which to be honest, you never would have thought.

Once again, she won’t leave your leg. This is when you give up and go home. That is until the Instructor spends an
entire class away from all of the other students and focuses only on your daughter. They
never rejoin the class but the Instructor swears that she did a superb job.

The next class the exact same thing happens.

You’re starting to give up but, again, the Instructor promises that she is improving
with each class; however, you’re not so sure.

Until finally, your daughter goes out onto the mat by herself. You can’t believe
what you’re seeing. No cries, no fussing, until finally she looks – and smiles.

At Action Karate – we’re asked why it is we [Instructors] do we what we do.

Well, this is just one example.

Our goal is to help your child (and you!) grow in the best way we know
how – in the world of the martial arts.
