Load Test Of A Three Phase


Induction Motor

Object : To find the equivalent Cct. Parameters of a
Three phase induction motor,Also ; to find
The load cks of the machine .

Procedure :
1- We connected the Simulink circuit (1) as shown
in the next paper , after knowing the name plate
data of the machine under test :

N=1750 rpm.
2- Using the DC test for induction motor (fig.1) we
gained :

3- We connected the cct. Shown in (fig.2) to find


the no load cks :

4- We made the Blocked Rotor test : we applied a


reduced voltage to reach the rated current at
6.5A.

5- From the no load and blocked rotor test , we


were able to calculate the equivalent cct
parameters as shown below :

Therefore, the equivalent circuit of the I.M can be drawn

6- Load test :
We varied the Tm with 0.25 values to load the
machine to 150% of full load and tabulated the
results as shown below :

4- Discuss your results briefly and state your


conclusion ?

From the results obtained it’s obvious that


when increasing the mechanical load the
efficiency is increased to rated conditions ,
after the rated conditions the curve began to
fall lightly ,

The speed torque cks was like any induction


machine , the max. torque occurs when there’s
a
breakdown slip as shown in graphical paper .
