HITACHI AAS MODEL Z-2000

S.N. FEATURES BENEFITS

1. Long focal length – 400 mm Very high spectral resolution. No chance of overlapping of two spectral lines
that are very close to each other.
2. Low linear reciprocal dispersion – Very high linear dispersion of spectral lines.
1.3 nm/mm
3. Two separate detectors for sample Simultaneous measurement of both sample and reference beams. True
and reference beams double beam performance. Highly stable baseline.

4. Highly sensitive DC Zeeman i. Far better and sensitive than Deuterium Lamp based background
background correction for flame correction.
ii. Detection limit of most of the elements is as low as 0.01 ppm or less.
iii. Real time simultaneous background correction as there is no time lag
between total and background absorbance readings.
iv. Correction over the complete UV-Visible range of 200 – 900 nm
(Deuterium lamp based system can correct over UV range only i.e.
200-360 nm).
v. Correction for some spectral interferences.
vi. True double beam performance due to presence of Polariser and
magnetic field (splitting of spectral lines in parallel and perpendicular
directions). These two lines act as sample and reference beams and
both pass through the same flame under same conditions.
vii. Less time required for stabilisation because there is no Deuterium
Lamp used.

5. Highly sensitive DC Zeeman i. DC /permanent magnets used in Hitachi AAS Graphite Furnace are
background correction for graphite better than AC/electro-magnets used in other makes.
furnace ii. Detection limit of most of the elements is as low as 0.01 ppb or less.
iii. Permanent magnet does not require electricity for its operation
whereas electro-magnet requires very high current for generating
magnetic effect.
iv. DC /permanent magnets make real time simultaneous background
correction possible whereas in AC/electro-magnets there is a time lag
between total and background absorbance readings.
v. True double beam performance due to presence of Polariser and
magnetic field (splitting of spectral lines in parallel and perpendicular
directions). These two lines act as sample and reference beams and
both pass through the same furnace under same conditions.

6. Tandem (Integrated) System Flame and graphite furnace atomizers are permanently installed and
aligned. No need to remove or reinstall anything.

7. Integrated Furnace Autosampler No alignment needed.
