II.

Methodology

For this research, the quantitative method was utilized in order to obtain the

necessary data. The researcher specifically handed out questionnaires to 70

respondents who currently resides in Barangay 7 Lipa City: deriving from the

Slovin’s formula with a margin of error of 10% and a confidence level of 90%. The

researcher then and asked them to fill-out the required information such as their

name, age, gender and civil status. The Independence method of the Simple

random sampling allowed the researcher to freely choose the respondents she

wants to take part in her research. The said material was used to gauge the

respondents’ present assessments regarding their community’s equipment and

fixtures. In addition, it consisted of ten items that centred around their barangay’s

facilities. One statement, emphasized on the residents’ personal evaluation of their

barangay’s fixtures. Moreover, two self-evaluation related claims were raised to

shed light to the aspects of safety and social responsibility of each resident. In line

with this, all ten statements were constructed in the format of Likert; reason for this

was to assess the response of the selected respondents. To elaborate, the scale

is stratified into 5 categories which corresponds to the appropriate claims of the

respondent. The rating scale used in the research is as follows; 1 corresponds to

“Strongly Disagree”, 2 denotes “ Disagree”, the number 3 implies a “Neutral ”

claim , 4 signifies “ Agree”, and lastly the number 5 symbolizes “Strongly Agree”.

The formulated statements were all in correlation of the research’s objectives as

mentioned in the introduction. Consequently, the questionnaire used was a vital

part of the research that will help attain the objectives of the study. Moreover.
Tabular presentations of the obtained information were also presented that

summarizes the data gathered from the respondents. This will enable to

researcher to have a coherent and accurate analysis of the study in order for her

to arrive with an empirical conclusion.
